I'm always surprised that this project runs relatively smoothly online, given how much trig is used. Other trig-oriented projects I've done recently seem to be unwatchable online.
awesome like a guy down here it would provide a great menu i think it is a very good project to copy
(of course giving credit)and using it into a game!!!
Cool! I'm honored. I hope it was an effective example. I'm a big fan of RISD and J. Maeda, and I would expect that Scratch (or some future isotope of Scratch) would be a great way for designers to prototype interactive works. I've been playing with the Scratch-to-external-world stuff lately, trying to make the Arduino easy to use, etc.
Hey chalkmarrow - Thanks for the comment on my game. The Belfast/Northport area is very pretty and just on the other side of Penobscot Bay from the Deer Isle Archipelago (which you no doubt know if you have Google Earth). The Archipelago is an incredible place to kayak (or sail) as there are a large number of islands that are either public access or accessible as part of the Maine Island Trail (membership required but very reasonable). I live 45 miles up the Penobscot so it's a bit of a drive but we get there probably 4 times a year and it's always magical.
logan996: that snake effect is really cool, but i think maybe a bit difficult to do smoothly in scratch. it uses lots and lots of circles that overlap just right. a lower-rez and slower version of it might be something you could work on, though.
I'm not fantastic at reading other people's code (so in my anger, I use impossible sprite, variable, and braodcast names in languages only I understand) but I think I'll use this in my next version of SWS not as a menu but as a Compiz style ring window viewer.
Here's an idea: make a template version w/o the music (just the math and sprites) so we can make our own ch47km4^^0w r3duxez! Did that make sense? Good!
I'm impressed! Another true piece of art from you. I seem to reognize an old friend (the bubble menu) and I love and admire the volume control.
Download this project!
Download the 15 sprites and 59 scripts of "gh0st5 r3dux" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Nine Inch Nails released their album, Ghosts, under a Creative Commons License*. So, just like you when you post something on the Scratch site, they are basically saying: "copy this and change it however you like, as long as it's clear where it came from."
This project simply includes seven samples from the album, which you can play in various combinations to alter the soundscape. Mouseover while pressing up and down arrows to change the volume.
Ghosts: Music by Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, Alan Moulder. Photographs (used for spheres) by Rob Sheridan

Amazing!
THis is good, and congrats at getting top-viewed!
This is one of the coolest interfaces on Scratch, without a doubt!

FEATURED!!!
this could be used for a 3d game's main menu
tcb: per your previous question: go ahead! sounds like a good idea.
could you make an itunes type scrolling menu?
i've been looking for something like this for ages!i tried using the one in zen rock garden, but didn't understand it
This one should be pretty easy to understand. If you look at Widgetfarmer1, he has a simplified version that you can use for anything.
This is a real cool selection widget. Much better than a menu ;-)

That snake effect is cool. Though why does this project have such a wierd name?
cool! check out my projects.

I HAVE AN IDEA ON SOMETHING U COULD MAKE!
did you check out my new circle guy game?
COOL!! You chould make a planet simulator. You seem good. Check dis out! (link to forums)

It runs so smooth. Very nicely done.
do you play Dnd? respond on one of my projects
Awesome idea, well done!
fullmoon: lol. good idea, though you don't have to use my name in it or give me credit. it could be used for a lot of menu type projects.

This is amazing!
Wow. This has left me speechless.
This is gorgeous! The spheres are hypnotic and the volume control is very intuitive as well. And who knew you were a NIN fan? A super project!
