No, I'm not really going to die or quit.
This is a soapbox.
1a. First of all, the other two people in the middle and far left are two I made up. Really, I only developed Krisjan, the one in the middle, though. I didn't feel like making another one so I plopped a name, Dimitri, and an appearence on the drums. I was inspired by a tutorial on how to make characters created by Sheeply, a user on DA who made a three-part tutorial on characters as well as an RP etiquitte sheet. I wondered why there was no RPG on Scratch yet that involved JUST NORMAL PEOPLE, so I created a character for it even though if it existed I wouldn't even use it because I cannot RP.
1b. On the subject of RPG's, I read in the character creation tutorial that there is a kind of character which when done properly, which many people will end up not liking. This is the Mary-Sue. (or Gary Sue or Author's Pet or whatever) This is the character which you see as yourself, except near flawless. This character of yours is talented, beautiful, and you want everyone to like this person, because you feel they are a part of you. In other words, if someone hates your character, you take it personally. Avoid this.
2a. Death. Yes, no one likes it, but we all have accept it. There comes a time in life when you have to stop counting the twitches of a dead body to resemble life. When things die, we must move on. Now, it is perfectly normal to greive over your losses, but it's not okay to try to bring them back to life.
2b. This brings me to a very controversial topic. Invader Zim. I watched the show some way back when it was still on the air. 2 years back, I watched all the episodes again. Then, a year and a French notebook full of IZ - themed doodles, the fad at Scratch started. Now, I understand that the show has ended, mostly because of how dark (and sometimes gory) it was. What most people don't get is that Jhonen signed a conract stating he will never go back to Viacom. Also fan fiction Invader Zim is probably one of the worst things I've ever pity-read. My point is, it's great and all if you like the show, it'd be nice if you didn't blatantly obsess over it, but PLEASE DO NOT make fan fictions based upon Invader Zim. Most of them (no offence meant towards anyone) are terrible and miss the whole dark humour that gives the show its charm.
3a. On a dying-related note, I'm trying to hold back on the amount of Scratch I do every day to catch up with school. I am not going to quit anytime soon.

Not soon, anyways. And to respond quickly to the other stuff you said, you have more of an idea what you're doing than I do. I'm just doing to back off with my unknowingness... :b
Ha on the quiz I got 62 (for Darth Pickley) yeah its sort of weird because I didn't develop anything except for to suit the original idea of "darthpickley", some random plot things, stuff about him being a sith lord (by definition) but not evil anymore, and being otherwise necesarilly or to suit my science fiction super-human power possessing ideas undeveloped, and with almost no personality except for being an all-around peace-loving guy who is on the light side...
Yeah, the top score for that is something like 700. From what the summary sounds like you put a bunch of cool powers onto a name without much else. My suggestion, cut 'em up. If you want Pickely to be your main character, that's great, just leave the really good powers to him. And personalities are always nice. Perhaps you could make a group of DarthVegetables or something and... anyway, don't sweat it. I'm rambling. As long as you're not using Pickely as THE BEST CARACTER EVAR, it's fine.
(view all replies)Dead bodies twitch :O and yes, I agree with that Invader Zim bit. People seem to think it's some happy little show, ladeeda, ooh, GIR is so happy and bubbly. But no. That show is freaking Morbid, man, but that's why I liked it. I bet half the people on Scratch who 'love' IZ have never seen a single episode.
lol. I assume you saw this one, but I thought I should show it to the world. "Is your character part something furry, yet shows no sign of being anything but human save for a furry tail, animal ears, fangs, and/or claws? " lol 75% YES.
(If your character is despised by everyone because he/she gets so much attention, douse yourself with cold water RIGHT NOW.)
