actually, I can explain a mandlebrot, even though I do not entirely get it myself. A mandlebrot is a fractal. It is determined by a set formula (the one that makes the weird shape) in it is self-similarity, which I can see that u have. the significance is that it is such a complicated thing, yet able to be derived from a fairly simple(even though I don't get it) equation. just go to Wikipedia and type in mandlebrot, and click on mandlebrot set. the other things that pop up are irrelevent.
I never got what the significance of the mandelbrot set was, besides the fact that no matter how far you zoom in, it's always the same thing. couldn't it be something simpler, like this?
