THIS IS NOT A TRICK!

Okay. The sensor says that it is 75 steps away from the red box and 75 steps away from the yellow box. The length of the green line is 86 steps. Now let's do the math.

75+75=150 150 does not equal 86!



THE EXPLANATION:
Every value in here is true! Scratch measures the distance to a sprite from the CENTER of one sprite to the CENTER of another. The green line shows the distance of the EDGE of the red box to the EDGE of the yellow box. This causes you to think that, even though the values are in fact measuring different things, they are (or should be) showing the same thing. TA-DA!
