This is more like AI than the first in this series.
It can decide when to attack me but it's not navigating very intelligent.
I would be much better if it ran away when you attack him.
But I think this is the best one made with scratch!
thanks this is very helpful, probably going to tweak it a bit so that it recognizes the distance that its projectile can reach as well as knows when to shield, but this is a great foundation. thanks archmage you continue to help scratchers achieve greater things :)!
What? I am very much alive. I am not doing the hard programming work for you. Do want to make it? Then do it yourself. Or you could just use the cpu from merry smashmas, it functions well.
I mean its not that this is bad, but I think it wouldn't make sence to do a melee attack from 10 feet away, and a ranged attack from one inch. I want it to have some decent strategy.
Archmage I need your help a bit. As you may have seen @ (link to forums) , I am making a Super Smash Bros. Scratch game with Bobby500. Well I need to have you make a good CPU. With a variable for 3-5 levels of difficulty, a shield, melee attack and ranged attack. Thankfully, I will not need this for the first version of the game, just the second.
o ad heres the funny thing on how i found it out i was messing with the movement and variables and all of a sudden the guy had mommentum as an the sliding forward and speeding up so i said wow i can do xvelocity and then i imediatly made a x velocity scroller.
hey archmage nice ummmm simulation lol well funny this was the first thing i could find for your project when i searched you and its x velocity i was gonna ask u a few questions about it i just figured it out and here are my questions: how do you make the person tottaly stop at the left or right end and not go any furthur when using scrolling? i tried one thing he can do it anymore but he will still like move forward a little bit because it x velocity and you know the sliding.
Question... I can't download this for some reason but I checked the forums to find the code... Where is the AccelCPU variable set? I didn't see that in the tutorial.
well... It's going to be very limited and I will probably post some (noobish) questions in the forums when I need help. At least one limitation... for now there are only two characters, and you can't choose between who you want to play as.
@ shadow of pain, use if (distance to sprite2 > 100) repeat until (distance to sprite 2 <51). So it will repeat a move code until it is less than 51 distance from sprite2.
thanks for the reply.. must be one of those odd computer glitches.. anyway great projects..
i think they will come in useful for my nephew when he starts to think a bit more..
hello archmage.. very useful set of projects you are doing.. great!!!
anyway i just wondered why a gallery of yours turned up on my stuff page..because as far as i know i had not added projects to any of your gallerys nor had i got any messages saying that any of my projects had..
so was a bit puzzled?

would there be any diffrence if this was updated with 1.4?
no
(view all replies)i would have to say that the one damage one is better, because its not as effective...
The point of this one is to make it easier for the player to win.

God I guess you are dead. *sob* such a great man...
Hey, sometimes I miss some of my messages. I was probally away from home when you posted your comments.

(view all replies)So you can just use the scratch cat, and a projectile and shield, x and normal player to control, + plus the stage.

That's VERY hard, by the way, I love it! And thanks for loving my Scratch Smash project!
why is it that i put the jump pwr to zero and i jump it sinks into the ground
Because it stops falling if the jump pwr is at 1 and falls if it's lower than 1.
never mind i did it i was just being dumb at that moment and not looking at how the variables work
The forums is a good place to ask your questions in the future.

Hey archmage is it possible to proram ai on a scroller.
Of course.
LOL, I found this on SURPRISE projects!
Its a demonstration.
But since when do you use health?
You program one in scratch.
hey iim new here and i was wondering like how you make a game.
nevermind I figured it out, it was my stupid mistake. I forgot to change Squareroot to Absolute Value!

I guess you could. If you want to make a scratch version of ssb then you better know what you are doing.
you think I could manipulate this into a brawl AI engine? if so could you leave some tips on one of my projects?
Cool!
Man this won't load!!!!
I love your projects archmage!!!

lol i set everything to 100 and velocity to 0
How do you make it so they come up about 50 distance to you but only move when you move 100 distance away from them?
help for beginers w nice format (link to project)
:P
lol
would you take offense from me?
There is no need to defend me geckofreak. I don't take offense from noobs :P
Better than yours :P
I don't mind if you use my stuff.
archmage can i use your super sidescrolling engine please? for a project for which i WILL give credit. plz answer.
Check out my updated version of SuPeR sMaSh BrOs BrAwL sImUlAtIoN!
Of course.
Interesting, I see you changed it by making it so the opponent will NOT always attack you, good job.
It was a test for the web.. But I am glad you think it's good :) I should have it done today or tomorrow.
good scroller you had on yesturday
What happened to that reallly reallly goos scroller you had on here yesturd day
thanks for the reply.. must be one of those odd computer glitches.. anyway great projects.. i think they will come in useful for my nephew when he starts to think a bit more..
If I saw that I would be puzzled too. I have no clue what happened to you.
