I also made the ball go into the black brick.

Its from a block from a discontinued version of scratch. In the new scratch, you can make comments with right clicks.

Yes, that bit was put in to counter the change yVelocity by -1. And yes it will sink through if you take it out :)
Nice! At first I thought you had an unnecessary statement in the bounce script (the Change yvelocity by 1). So I took it out, and it bounced just fine...until it got very low and sank right through the platform! A great set of scripts, thanks!
