With this platformer engine it is possible to create fairly complex platformer game which includes glide and two way scrolling and is about as perfect a platformer engine you can make in scratch.
Since some may not understand how to use this engine I will give help to anyone who asks for it on the forums.
Also if you have any suggustions to make this platforming engine even better please leave a comment and let me know.

Really good. I might use it for one of my games sometime.
I have some problems with your gaming engine(eg: obstacles). In the event of creating spaces in the platforms (in which my sprite dies if falling), the image I get is the spaces forming over time (eg. getting bigger over time but does not maintain the space for a long enough time (as in reaching the end of the screen). How can I solve the problem?
Only 5 platforms... hmm, I'm hoping v2.0 of Scratch addresses the scroll issue. Everyone claims a fix yet have not seen one yet. Nice scroll speed change though!
This version is simple but less efficient. If you want efficient go with this project (link to project) That project has pretty everything you need.

yes you just have to make a variable that controls the y position and have that variable as a slider

u should make a game, in which u can use a and s to move the guy, and when u aim at an enemy, he starts blasting away at it.

but now my problem is that the platforms go so fast that it doesnt stop fast enough to land on the number to make it reset. how do i fix this?
I am guessing that you are sick of the slide. To fix this you have to use the sidescrolling engine v2.1. In that project you will see a block that says "set x velocity to( xvelocity*0.9)" change that to "set x velocity to( xvelocity*0.1) and make your run speed variable 10 times as big.
(view all replies)i just finished my sidescrolling engine with sliding (few) after fixing like 5 million porblems in the programming but i didnt get a single bit of help from anyone excepy how to make the left end a rigth end disappear but the sprite can still touch it.

There's a big glitch. If you set the speed to 50 and go back and forth over and over, the platform rips apart. Lol. It was kinda funny.

Yes, you can use this, and no it can scroll 4 ways but there are other engines that can.
Would it be possible to make it scroll four ways? (up, down, left, right) And if it is, could I use this for a game?
