what happened? when i saw this project it worked great! but now at time the cat doesnt even stop when it hits something....it just goes right through it...i think someone when on this and changed the code...
You need to shrink the sensor sprites as well. The sensors should be in the same relative position. The ground one should be just below the feet, the top one is above the head, and the side ones are at the edges of the sprite.
OMG I tried doing the same thing! I used multiple colors on the corners of my sprites but It doesn't seem half as good as yours! I will try to implement your way into my game. Thanks Archmage!
interesting.....just out of curiosity, did you incorporate terminal velocity? otherwise he will accelerate to a speed far beyond what is physically possible. My terminal velocity calculator is working now, so maybe you could figure out what his approximate TV is.
It would seem that in scratch it would be more reasonable to base the terminal velocity on falling through floors and its effect on gameplay as opposed to realism. But your (adressing Cyclone) terminal velocity calculator is quite cool
it doest turn around thats how i make mt so they turn around so it doesent look like its walking backwards any way the movements pretty sommoth im going to donload this when i can get on a diferent computer .
great!! only thing is, im not sure you can do anything, but on the brown part if you jump and are coming down then collide with the brown he get a little tiny bit stuck in it. otherwise it is perfect

The sliding can be reduced if you reduce the number than the xVel variable is multiplied by. Yours is good, but the scripts could be better.

Just use sencor sprites to check if the player sprite is touching a slope, and if it is slide the sprite.

Yes, if you move the ground sensor further down you can make it so that the cat doesn't go in the ground at all.
