You should contact the Scratch Team by clicking on the Contact Us link at the bottom of this page. I think the problem was that most of the religious discussions led to disrespectful comments. Since we have limited resources we cannot keep up with moderation so it was decided to not allow religious discussions. This is unfortunate though because religion is such an important part of a lot of people's lives but it's just not feasible for us to do a good job at managing those discussions.
I've got a question...What happened to the "Close Account" Button?
It was removed due to some concerns about people guessing other people's passwords to close their accounts. A lot of people have really easy passwords unfortunately.

They get picked by the Scratch Team based on interestingness. We try to feature both advanced and beginner's work, as well as a diverse range of styles and content (games, animations, simulations, etc)

I've been working on some kind of platformer, but online, when it's supposed to go to level 2, the variable says level 3, but it's still the level 1 platform. (view all replies)Andresmh, I was on Scratch 1.4 creating a project. I clicked on the paint editor and went to the Fonts button. When I opened all the fonts, I did not see the normal four pages of fonts, but instead, some different fonts, with names like Emulator, Textile, Parchment, and TimesBold. I have seen these fonts on other users' projects, and I do not know how to change the fonts back. Please help! --P.S. When I click the screen when one of the different fonts are up, it changes back into either
I think the fonts have changed. Your best bet is to ask in the forums :)

(view all replies)Hi Andres! I have a question about MIT. I was reading a book call "Hackers" by Steven Levy. And it had to do with multimillion dollar computers. I've been wondering, does MIT still have the IMB 7090, TX-0, PDP-1, PDP-7, and all those 1950s-70s computers? I just thought it would be interesting to see those when I grow up. ^.^
I am actually not sure what they did with those computers but my guess is that they decommissioned them threw them away.

(view all replies)Sorry if I am annoying,bad grammer,bad language but i just wanted to make sure that thier dosent occur some issues with my latest project its called the password generator which generates unique passwords that cannot be reverted back by others . The problem is that it uses Alt symbols . When i browesd the internet bout the Alt symbols it said they are cpu specific is it true and will alt symbols work as password on scratch website plz do reply .
I am not sure actually. I have never done testing with those symbols, but I think it should work.

The only approved way to deal with disagreements is to flag projects/comments or to contact the Scratch Team by clicking on the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page. Thanks.
I think you are confused about a couple of things. 1. When one or two people flag a project, the Scratch Team is notified about it but the project is not removed. The Scratch Team looks at the project and makes a decision. 2. When a lot of people flag a project, the project gets automatically censored and the Scratch Team looks at the project and makes a decision. 3. It is against the Scratch Terms of Use to be mean to ANYONE, even to people who are mean.

Continued with my last comment Well Andresmh i dont understand the syntax somewhat but its still good to edit there is just one problem i m using byobs basic block editor that is able to convert just one block at once any suggestions PLZ how to get it directly.:)

can i ask just one thing how does scratch executes a code i mean it interprets compile or do a realtime compilation cause i think if scratch is made to make a temp file of compiled data it could get increased speed well anyways its upto you guys
unfortunately there are no people in our group who are interested in developing such compiled version, the source code of Scratch is open so someone else could do it.
(view all replies)it interprets the code. Scratch is not designed to be fast so it hasn't been a high priority to do speed optimizations. In fact sometimes it is slowed down on purpose so it can run at the same speed in old and new machines. Scratch on!

(view all replies)do you mean someone who is guessing the passwords? if so, it is not really hacking, guessing a simple password is easy to prevent by simply using words that are not the username and not in the dictionary
(view all replies)Well i was thinking whats the problem converting scratch into an ide that can make .jar or .image or .exe extensions as i have found that they r faster then scratch as scratch projects are slower then scratch.. and by the way when i opened the scratch code in BYOBs block editor i found a lot of useless manipulation such as in the block direction direction=direction + 90 why is tat so??could u plz reduce that

hey man. I was wondering if you could pass something on to the people who make the scratch program. Here we go - Right Click (for instance - when sprite 4 right clicked). Saving it as a game file to brun to a disk. A password system (for intance instead of the ask .... script it is something you can drag to a sprite to turn it into a log in system. And last but not least a system which allows you to log in as a scratch account on somebody elses project. Please get back to me ;-)

No worries. I just fear parents would go crazy about knowing their kids are sharing "private" information with strangers. You know how parents can be sometimes. Plus, there is also the possibility that an adult with the wrong intentions might try to contact people that way. Probably not worth the risk.

look i user how is being pested about being a agent which i am. all i do is help people out with there projects and stuff. so when i see a scratch memeber be attacked i help him out. then maki-taki( the user who was doing the attacking) leaves me message. going how i am not an agent. my friends been called but there not going to do anything though. please tell them that i am what i am. look my team is just fasinated with scratch and hope to make it a populer website. please help
I am not sure how I can help. You might want to talk to Maki-Tak in a nice way and explain how you feel and try to understand how Maki-Taki feels. When someone is "attacked" the best is to respond with kindness, flag the comment and move on. hey i saw this cool project and the person there wanted to show the scratch team. its a display picture based on the default scratch one except that instead of having the silhouette of a person it has that of a scratch cat. as they wanted to show you so that you might consider it for the default picture i thought that i'd give you a link. thanks! 5. We hired a couple of graphic designers to create characters for Scratch. We had a lot of options. At some point we considered using Gobo but we thought the cat was easier to recognize. I really like this version of the cat because it looks like a character from a videogame, which I thought people would appreciate. It reminded me of a game I played when I was younger (Sonic)
4. The Scratch community has been the main focus of my work. I have been very pleased with what the community has accomplished, there's a lot going on! Sometimes I feel like I don't know everything that has happened. I would love to receive stories on how the community has allowed people to collaborate with others, so if you have any interesting stories please send them to us!!
3. I think 1.4 is going to stay here for a while . We're starting to explore some ideas for Scratch 2.0 which we think should be all web-based. But we are in very early stages of development. Probably it will not be ready for at least 1 year, so supporting 1.4 for now is our main priority. We're very interested in having more people use Scratch, specially in schools and after school centers.

Also as 4 the storyline...It has changed MANY times..considering I 1st created the show when i was 12 years old, lol! It always involves my mother and father when they were young no matter wht.. lisa (my mom) is 15 years old in heroine lisa! kevin (my dad) is 18 years old

(view all replies)oh sorry for bugging you again but this is a an idea i came up with (link to forums) it's basically something to solve the "i quit" problem. what people are supposed to do is view at least ten projects under newest projects and give a comment iwth constructive criticism and something to acknowledge the effort put into it. there is a bette explanation in the forum post.
i created a project that can calculate interest based on how much debt your paying, how much your paying per month, and how much interest percent you pay a year. theres not many people who would be interested so if you wouldnt mind checking it out i woudl appreciate it. thanks! (link to project)
