AGGIE. I know we have not been in proper communication, but we are doing a GUARDIANS RPG REUNION. Once I tell everyone that it's happening, I will post at the RPG itself and we can brainstorm when it will happen. This will be our farewell to the RPG, as we are probably never going to ever RP there ever again. YOU MUST JOIN, I mean, it was pretty hard individually finding AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE FROM THE RPG (like Tarrasic, who quit). But anyway, you must come.

I agree with your point. I have for years now. The only time I really truly enjoyed the front page was '07. Everyone programmed back in the good old days! I am wondering how this happened? I am guessing people have just thought that programming is to hard and are making things with two seconds of blabbering stolen jokes then a black screen with a song.

Useless projects are getting to the front page and only 1 or 2 scratchers actually get something worthwhile on the front page. If THIS project gets to the front page it will be completely misunderstood as a joke and something that fits with all the other junk on the front page. Just like the LOL joke. Useless and boring. Why don't people ACTUALLY PROGRAM SOMETHING instead of making lame jokes and something that takes NO EFFORT AT ALL. That is my opinion.

I see this as a comment on the passive nature of mainstream media "consumption". Luckily, we have Scratch which allows to play a more active role as media authors!
The point is that no one's doing that with Scratch. They AREN'T playing a more active role as media authors. Sure, there's occasionally a good project, but still.

(view all replies)Heh, I don't think this project will really solve the problems you guys are talking about - it just seems means spirited and critical of those who like / make the projects that are on the front page a lot these days. The roots of the problem is that different people have different ideas about what kinds of projects are interesting. I think the best solution is to make the front page more customizable, something we're researching now.
