Hey there Yakkers, just thought I'd tell you that I am using your project again tonight at a teacher training. It is a great example of integrating games and a curriculum goal.
eMesreveR, what I have done is when the plant is cut, it scrolls through the costumes making the animation, then I used ghost effect for the fade, then it hides and clears graphics effects.
I know it's habatat is marshy area, I tried to make the ground look sort of marshy. I should change it to look a little more swampy, and change "forest" to "marsh" in the instructions. And sure you can share it with other teachers! Just remember to give credit.
Impressive. Did you create the invasive plants through in-program sprite creation from a template, or did you simply hide and move as they were destroyed? Because if it's the former, I beg you to tell me how to do that.
This is a great example of how to integrate a programming project with other subjects. Do you mind if I add it to a collection I share with other teachers? (Not to nit-pick, but isn't purple loosestrife a wetland plant?)

Nice project! I'm thinking we may need to move beyond scissors and maybe try some Agent Orange on that dratted Purple Loosestrife!
Just noticed I spelled "habitat" wrong, just had to correct myself :)

Brilliant application of Scratch! Really shows us it's potential as a playing, learning and teaching tool. Look forward to more. :)
