Yeah, BYOB's basically a little higher than Scratch, I'm already beyond that. And blender isn't actually a language, it's just an engine.
(view all replies)People think it's good simply because it's beyond anything they can do. It's alright, I'm mature enough to tell you aren't flaming. Anyway, I've pretty much left scratch, and I can do a lot better in other programs now anyway... GML, Flash, so on, and I made this a year ago.

Well, I completed it longer than a year ago, uploaded it a few days away from a year and had actually started it (rounded) 1.5 years ago.

Amazing! The graphics are second to none, the music is excellent and the programming must've taken months! A superb game with no encountered glitches.
thanx, and it only took about to weeks to make. I also didn't make the music. anyway, i don't go on scratch much anymore, but i have a really good game idea that, if i ever get around to finishing it, will surpass this in every way. so, yeah. sometime in the next few months i might make it.

(view all replies)THIS IS EPIC! I wish i'dve viewed it sooner! The gameplay is magnificent, the sound effects great. I've seen better graphics, but the rest of the game makes up for the lack of...GIMP! XD (http://www.gimp.org/ for more info on GIMP. It's REALLY cool!)
yeah, i have gimp, but couldn't be bothered to learn it, and anyway, scratch downgrades the images in the end, so it's probably still best to use the in-built editor for sprites. though i really need a good background/sliding terrain...

Good, but at the start of story you smetimes die before you can move. is there any way you could fix that?
i haven't come across that glitch before, so, i can't really fix it. sry. anyway, i'm likely not going to update this one until i've finished the next one. i'll address the issue in the one i'm currently working on. :)
(view all replies)This is really good. Clearly, there are improvements from the beta version you entered into my Scratch Awards 2010. However, the glitches aren't entirely fixed yet, which means you lost a few marks there. The new marking scheme is out of 100% and so you got an overall score of 91/100 for the great coding, intro and outro. Well done! Keep it up! Stay in touch for updates as this is a most fabulous start to the new Scratch Awards!
yep. all the glitches so far have been straightened out for the next game, though with the new features (player ships, multiplayer, so on) it will bring new glitches. i just noticed new glitches when the game runs fast on the site.
(view all replies)I have just tested this in the new player. i realized that my bug fixing was tailored to my slower laptop. the speed of scratch's original program was much slower, and it is much harder to fix glitches that come from faults in it's processing speed. do not worry, i will not make the same mistake in the sequel.

ok. here's the order i'm going to do it in. I upload HIVE Forces as a extra, but before HIVE II, i'm going to try my hand at an animated trailer for HIVE II that gives a little insight to the storyline. sound good?

cool game! not very efficiently programmed, but the end result is a really good/dificult game. Btw, you should check out my game Griven. (link to project) A lot of people are also saying it is the best game on scratch, but these games are very different.
yeah, i've played Griven before. it's very well done, i actually did get the feeling that i was stuck in the hotel. nice job with that!
(view all replies)Wow. This game is really fantastic, you can tell right from the beginning how much work and time you have put into the game. There is method in every single aspect, like the way you hover over the different records and recieve a speech bubble telling you the answer, and you can unlock achievements that you can then see in your data. You have really grasped everything that scratch allows you to do, and in a really cool style. Good job.
