The purple guy is the final boss. When you first start, you can just stay on the black platform. When he gets to bounce higher, though, you have to press the down key to move down while he's away from the platform, then quickly press A to jump up. the black box lasts a few moments, so you can just make it appear quickly after you see the boss fly right or left. Hope this helped! PS. I will be making a new Gem of Light game that is much better.
