Yeah, I found that game... it does have a similar 'feel' even though it's different gameplay. I really like the parallax background effect... I might have to 'remix' that :)
Thanks for the comments :) Wow, 29802 is a serious score :D
I've stop working on this for a little while I work on a version of Defender, but I intend to overhaul the graphics in Paintshop Pro or Paint.net, before trying out the enclosure idea.
Excellent game play - the grouped target idea is great! The sound effects are cool too. I only got 5133 playing from my mouse-less laptop. Hopefully I can do better when I have a mouse!
Really fun! The concept is very original (I think), and I love the background. The sound effects gave me a scare, I thought it was my stomach for a brief moment until I realized the game had loaded!
Good score!
I think it should be *just* possible to get to 20000, if you only take orange targets, hit them *really* quickly, and conserve power really well (by trying to hit 2 or 3 targets with one hit when they're close to each other)
... but it'll be hard :D
Gameplay hints:
Hit 3 targets of the same colour...
You get more points for the Orange targets.
If you mix colours, you get fewer points.
If you hit the targets quickly you'll get more points.
If you take more than 5 seconds, you're points will go into reverse!
If you hit both black targets you'll lose half your score!
Take it easy on the mouse button - if you hold it down your Power will drain very quickly - take well-aimed single shots for best results :)
Download this project!
Download the 14 sprites and 49 scripts of "Connectorius" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Now on V01.02, which has better music processing, and game now ends correctly when power drops to zero :)
I've given you more power to start with, I've just racked up 30,744 points!
