You should do a design studio like this, but it would be about the future of scratch and suggestions about new blocks.
This is kinda about this project. I am just warning you. If you don't return the blur block, more people will start to hack scratch. I'm resisting it, but i'm not sure about the other people. They might hack. That is just a warning. P.S. return some of the others too. (In scratch 1.5)

like hitting a save button and being able to come back to a saved game. And bigger file space

Hmm...never though about it. What if on the home page, you can make a monthly theme that could give ideas for new Scratch videos.
Several ideas for Scratch: > Native 3D Env. > Better text support (comparing text variables, etc.) > Better list support (PHPs implode() & explode(), will help a lot) >Internet operations >Second, non-blocky, like-normal, object-oriented programming language (like " ScratchCat.move(10); " stuff)

i think there should be a video block on scratch: play video,stop video.also i think there should be a "when stop button pressed block"
The stop button pressed wouldnt work. At least i dont belive so. Because it is stopping all the scripts.

I was thinking a block with a mouth that if the blocks inside it make the sprite get to the edge, the sprite just jumps on to the Scratch website itself!..
Some good new things may be a z-axis, being able to directly pull the value out of a graphic effect, rather than volume, a pitch block, being able to pull time off the system clock, and servers for multiplayer projects(That last not really as much because you would have to make a script to find if someone else was playing and connect with them, plus, with a lot of multiplayer projects, you would need a lot of servers.).

You can if you have a Macintosh.
I would like 3D and multiplayer capabilities, different versions (simple for younger children and more advanced for older children)It would be great if the more advanced versions could have some tie ins or transitions to Adobe Flash, so that you could learn a bit about Flash while working in Scratch.
I would add that forms would be nice, then we could make polls and "madlib" type games.

I think you should be able to sense if the green flag is pressed... did anybody say that yet?
Not that'a recall.
You should be able to hook up the lego nxt and be able to sense things like the degrees of the motor or if button is being pressed.
AWESOME idea but they made a "scratch board" that does that.

The ability to draw 3-D Sprites... A Stop-all-scripts-for-this-sprite Script. That would be nice...
Yeah, but that would require a complete overhaul. I would rather wish for sprite perspective changing. Then, with a little math, you could make 3d.
Mabe a tab called my scripts where yoou can store whole scripts and be able to drag them back when you need them.

Huhmm...full text support (like textboxes, etc)...that would save a lot of a lot of a lot time...does that make sense? nvm. And 3d support with 3D sprite creation...maybe there would be a basic pack for beginners and a more advanced pack for people seeking more features and capabilities.
Don't wish for 3d. I'd rather wish for more functions that help along developers who are experienced enough to make 3d. I mean, you shouldn't just hand 3d over to users! Make them work for it! Working for it is fun! You'd completely destroy a genere!

Oh! Well, if that's what you're looking for, there is a game creation program called "game maker" just google it. It currently is windows only, but soon it will be ported to mac. You also can share your projects online on their website. It's like scratch, only with more features, window sizes, is faster, and everything! It's much better for big games... But it is just a little more complicated than scratch. You also can program 3d with game maker.
(view all replies)Not more efficient. In fact, the only way to make it more effecient is to take away pointless commands. Like the set x to block and the set y to block. They already can be achieved by the "go to x: y:" block. It's just idiotic how they need to do that.

Quiting is kinda dumb it's not really smart and people just do it because they don't get positive feedback.
