I figured a way for backspace!!! The letter(s) you don't like, get the dash thing under it. Now press the down arrow. There should be a period. Go back under the period and press space. Or you could do the same thing except replace the letter(s) that you don't like under with the letter you want. But if let's say you were typing the word 'renew' and you accidently typed 'rennew'. Then you would have to use backspace.

hey could you put a project n with the song -thanks for the memories on it like i mean just do a backgroun sayingclick me and when youclick it it playes the song
I'm not entirely sure why that happens, I shall try to fix it. If I release a new version, I'll be sure to add a scroll/page function to sort things out.
BUG: If you write too much (I just pressed and held the down arrow) it will wipe out the tool bar at the bottom. Also I do not know if it is supposed to change from clear to clear screen when hovered but it looks kinda dodgy but overall it is a good project
The full page bug is one I need to deal with. The 'Clear' button is supposed to expand into two buttons when hovered over. This looks alright to me, how does it look to you?
Press 'Start' and then type anything you want. Take a look at the instructions by clicking on them when you start or clicking the '?' in the top left corner.
Oh, wow. It's been a while since I've looked at this project (it HAS to have been at least a year!) and it is just as superior as I remember it. Easily one of the best type of scratch project of it's kind. It must have took you quite some time to make this. Just wanted to stop by and say I'm glad this was curated. Cheers.:)
Unfortunately, Scratch doesn't have full keyboard support, so quite a few functions don't work. You can get caps by pressing the 'up arrow' key and a letter or number (gives you the special character above the number). For periods, press the 'down arrow' key, and for backspace, press the arrow button at the bottom of the screen.

------------begin error report-------------------------
press left arrow then space.
on a character you don't want,
end error----------------------------------------------
Brilliant! ;) One problem however which I don't think is easily solvable... :/ That when you are typing a word near the end of a line there is the chance that you will have half of the word on the first line and the rest of it on the next... Otherwise however it is a great project! ;)
Yeah, this is a difficult one to fix, since it would require deletion of the first half from the top line and then rewriting on the second line. One solution I'm considering is adding in a hyphen to show the break.
ScratchPad is a simple text program which can produce almost all keyboard characters including capitals and special characters, allows you to insert and write over text, and save text to an infinite* memory.
SB *this is constrained by Scratch’s memory
New features: Backspace - Delete text by clicking the backspace button Insert text - Insert midway through the text by pressing the insert button Move freely - Move through the text using the arrow keys Caps symbol - A little symbol shows in the bottom right when caps lock is on. and numerous other code improvements and enhancements.

you can go over the bounderies from the bottom
Amazing! really, this is great
Could I use this in my OS? I'd like to include several word processors.
I'm thinking this is more in the "simple text" role while my word processor is more "rich text".
Very cool.
0_0 cool.. epic...

Try adding a Capitol button to type caps.

You may want to add, "It's harder than it looks" in the Project notes! This program is amazing!
That's very kind, thank you. :)
Can i use it on my OS Sim?
Sure. Give me a link to your project when you're done, I like to see how my project is used.
Bug encountered: Click start. If you click ? while it's typing, it may type on the wrong page!

One of the most brilliant projects I have ever seen, EVER! But scratch doesn't support the entire keyboard... anyway great project! Luved & Faved! ;D
That's quite some praise! Thanks :). I hope one day Scratch will have full keyboard support.
Sorry about the silly question, but is there an exclamation mark? (!)
There is, hold the 'up arrow' key and press '1' to get an exclamation mark.
(view all replies)Yeah, is there?
Check out Glow Text, a project based on the same principle as ScratchPad! You can find it at: (link to project) . :)

Scratch doesn't support the 'backspace' key unfortunately, but you can use the button at the bottom of the stage to delete letters.
(view all replies)sadly, backspace doesn't appear in the <key____pressed?> or |when___key pressed| menu...

Thanks for your support, it is much appreciated. :)
(view all replies)Easily the best typing program on scratch. It deserves to be curated. Well done.
NO BACKSPACE EITHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It does not use your keyboard, because Scratch does not support keyboards. Maybe you can suggest that for the next version of Scratch ;)
Press the arrow on the bar at the bottom of the screen for backspace
NO CAPS LOCK OR PERIODS. SAD TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hold down the up arrow to use caps, press dow for a period.
Awesome!
cool
Cool, but I can't do caps, or backspace, or anything, really...

If you want me to make an actual file system (like with files with names and everything) then I can.
Wow. I'm jealous of this amazing program (and programming). :D
This is epicly awesome! Can I use it in my OS?
Feel free to use the project anyway you'd like. If you put it into an OS, send me a link so that I can take a look.

(view all replies)You should add "enter". Otherwise, really awesome.
This is really amazing!!!!!!!!
i dont understand it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What don't you understand?
Cool project! I once made something like this, but much more simple.
the backspace dosen't work XP
There's a button that looks like an arrow at the bottom of the screen. that's the backspace.
it's the left arrow at the bottom of the screen.
