Effective, but not very realistic. I use a velocity system-the arrow keys change the velocity, the sprite changes x by velocity, and if it hits a certain color, the velocity is reversed, making the sprite "bounce" off of an obstacle without a sensor.

well the jumping doesn't work exactly (well it just does not jump high) and the thing is, you used color sensing.
