I beat the computer, but it doesn't actually recognize the win. The computer doesn't know when the game is over, is that just for me or did you not implement that feature?
Chess is one of my favorite games. I play regularly with my Computer. I tried turnament playing, but found that to be too expensive. Those players are good.
Also my project needs An AI player.
The way my project works is it checks if the move can be done, and if it can, flips all the pieces in order based on a mathematical formula. Since the board is 8*8, you can make assumptions like the square one down and one to the right is the number + 9, and the like. you can check it to understand this better. My project has 20 more sprites and 24 less scripts then yours, which might change after I add a computer player and a starting menu, etc.
The AI is 2/3s of the work. I spent 4 oe 5 months on mine. The best way to use my code is to use all of it, and just change the graphics. I will look at your project and see if I can find the bugs.
Well, I finally opened up your project and took a look.
1. We are using completely different systems.
2. I not know how easily i could integrate this in, i would have to examine it for a while more, which i will do.
3. Could you maybe take a look at my project and see if you can figure out one of the bugs? if you need anything clarified i will help you.
I have fixed one bug and will be looking for others. Download again to get my fixes. Feel free to use in your projects. You might try remixing with beter graphics.
Download the 50 sprites and 294 scripts of "Othello" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
The object of this game is to fill the board with blue pieces. To do this, click on a white square that puts only green pieces between that square and a blue one. All the squares between these 2 will be flipped to blue.
This game is an experiment with A.I. to see if Scratch is up to it.

lagging really lagging and a lot of glitches
Not really.
Wow, not sure how yours has less views than mine. This should get featured.
Thanks. I'm glad someone likes it.
Hey this is really good! It can almost beat me! ;)
Did you use a coding sample from another computer language for the AI?
No , This is the actual strategy I use when I play othello.
(view all replies)Well done! The AI is quite competent; once he gets to the edge, I'm done for!
Thank you so much.
Wait, so do you want to play chess?
My username is the same; Rick3137
(view all replies)Ok I signed up. Our time zones may cause us trouble. I played one game and lost. Still, good mental workout to wake me up in the morning.
(view all replies)I'm thinking about it. I need to take another look at that chess cube site and see about signing up.

I did not add that feature. The final score is the only way to measure progress.
Hey, just curious because of your profile pic, do you play chess?

(view all replies)33! I won! Suggestion: You should make it so you can see how many tiles the computer has.
Thank you for playing. If I ever work on it again, I'll add your idea. I guess you can still count them. 31 in your last game.
(view all replies)Great game!
Thank You.
20! The computer CREAMED me!!!
It is a very great project. Good AI for Scratch and Turbo Mode especially
If you click quickly in two different places while it says your turn, it will allow both moves. I used this to go four times one turn!
That's very strange. I have no idea what does that.
I win 35 and at the second game 54. It's a very great work. Good AI for Scratch and it work with Flash Turbo Mode !Bravo.
Thanks for playing it. I spent several months working on it. My next game is half finished and it may take alot of work also.
Awesome! I got 41 :D
By The Way, I converted this to my color scheme, I have it if you want it.
Nice strategic game. My best score was 19.
Thanks for trying it out.

Awesome! I cant figure out if there might be one bug in this, can i try to utilize this system in my othello game?
