I was bored, so I ported line-rider to scratch in my own style. :) I hand drew the splash screen on a very small bit of paper - was quite fun.
Anyways, the splash screen will show for a small while and then the project will start. If you move your mouse to the top of the screen you will see your toolbar. There you can choose between Pen and Line draw style, clear the course, save the course (not in Alpha 1), play the course and place/remove a flag which the player starts from.
This is the first Line Rider game to have a scrolling drawing system, but as with everything, scratch causes some problems:
1. Total draw points limited to 64 so scratch doesn't go super slow and you guys complain about it.
2. Draws to point which are offscreen are incorrect, as scratch sprites can't go offscreen
3. It's slow anyways!
The best thing about this is the Physics engine - it's the most advanced I've made yet. It still needs a lot of tweaking though (as you will see!) and will be better in future releases.
Don't forget to love-it. This took a while to get working. :P

great game! It's really cool! Just like the actual line rider (except a bit slower) but that's scratch's fault not yours. Great! Please check out my projects.
This is actually really good. I think I'll mess around with it and see if I can add the new trapdoor ink they added into line rider. Or maybe dual riders, which would be easy.

I have no clue how he does these things, as I have over 100 projects and can't do anything like it. He deserves more front-pageness.

are you kidding? when your bored you create projects with scripts so long it freezes up scratch just to scroll down? wow.
And this project only took 2/3 days.
(view all replies)You have to use certain techniques to get the code into the script without it crashing. You make it into chunks which you build from the ground up.

HEY RHY3756547!!! PLEASE check this out: (link to project) It is MY version of line rider. (This inspired me to make it.) Also, this version of line rider shows people that good scripts can sometimes just be a few simple blocks. :) PLEASE play it and tell me what you think.

I made player rider...but yours is better...WHY!
This is so cool
Very cool again! Something that may interest you: I figure out recently that the pen can draw off the screen. (link to project) Kind of like how scrollers can go mostly off the screen. But don't make larger than you need, as it slows it down some.
this is amazing. if you could, try improving the momentum so that the sled doesn't immediately nosedive after going off a ramp.
