Beat the dealer to 21 in my version of blackjack! To object of the game is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without 'busting' (going over 21). For a more complete set of rules, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackjack
Defining rules:
- Double Down on 9, 10, 11.
- 5 Card Charlie wins do not occur.
- Bets are returned as 2x the original bet.
- Blackjacks return 3x the bet.
- If you lose the dealer always takes 1x your bet.
- The dealer stands when above 17.
In my opinion, my version is more in favour of the player than in an actual casino.
This game proved a real challenge to make. After 2 days I finally got a working list-based card system, a funcioning dealer and many rules implemented. Also it took a while to make all 52 card sprites. :P

i always get 15-16s on my first hand and end up busting in this game

bluff? you dont understand the rules, bluffing is for poker not blackjack

A very nice game. Maybe instead of a counter for the bets you could add chips on the side, and use that to place bets. Just a thought.

I had K,3 stay. Dealer had 5,3 hit 7 and stayed? He should have hit again since his total is only 15.

Yes - I have. I don't know why the glitches are happening.
It offered to let me double down after it had already delt me a card. Double down rules are only for your two initial cards.

Umm...
1) It looks really pretty. 2) I never saw it deal anything but clubs. 3) I double-down on 6+4 and received an ace. The dealer had 7 J and... won?!
OK - fixed evrything. Just noticed the Blackjack detector for the dealer reads from the player's deck.
Easily fixed the clubs issue - but I don't know about the 21 dealer winning.
Aaargh this game is so annoying! When you fix one bug it pops up with another.
Great job (as always). But... how can you create so many great projects in a so short time? Are you a single Scratcher or this is the nickname of a full team?!?!?

Fireballs was a filler. It took 2 1/2 days to make this. :P
(I never played blackjack so I wouldn't really be able to say much about this) I'd like to invite you to a collab for a project, of a Scratch Cat AI, that you can talk to and have conversation with, basically like a chatbot. I'm currently the graphics designer, and adringl is the coordinater/designer, and the programmers are The-Whiz, and Pinochio, and perhaps you :). (view all replies)Really good interactive play and nice presentation. I noticed at one point that my bet was being reduced. Is that supposed to happen? Also, the dealer beat my 5,9,6 with a J,4,2,A. He also beat my blackjack with a "?, K, 10" -- I’m not sure what the first card was because the 10 overlaid the top card.
