Um, I'm new to Scratch...
Could I ask why you made a new sprite for sin and cos (as opposed to using the sin and cos blocks, or doing it internally), and why you made a global variable for the X-position of the ship (As opposed to using the block "[X-Position] of [ship]")?
Does that make it either faster or easier to program?
