by the way, the version I made is pretty basic, but the ball does bounce off any side of the brick, im not sure how you scripted it to bounce only off the top and bottom, but you're welcome to view my project.
sanj download the project. good job to PeterC, its a fun game, I made one like this except a little simpler. I noticed the ball didn't always bounce off the bricks though. :] great game!

I think its too slow... I downloaded and bumped it up to 20 steps. I can't beat it at 25 steps yet lol
why doesn't this game load?
the problem with the ball going through the bricks is because the ball is scripted to bounce properly off the top and bottom, but when hit from the side, it goes through, something ive been trying to fix for a while.

Very well done and enjoyable. I do wish for a higher speed, but it's great as is.

First Breakout game on scratch that I have seen that is playable. Needs to get faster level by level. Also freakishly quiet!! Needs the Spectrum Beep Noise!

this was really a good game. its kinda like the actual break out game. but it would be even more awesome if it had levels.

This is a really good project. I downloaded it. I think it needs to be faster- if you go to the ball script and tell it to move 4 or 5 steps instead of three, it will move faster. I apologize if you already knew that, and I think this is a awesome game.

nice job... but look at my brick breaker game... it has more bricks..its kinda funny tho, i think we both hav the exact opposite glitches.. in urs, the ball goes through the bricks sumtimes, and in my game, the brick doesnt get destoyed sumtimes (unless its downloaded)
There seems to be a bug in the online version... The ball can go trough bricks here...
it should go a bit faster, but it's great

I made the ball in the scratch costume editor. I made a solid-colored circle and filled it with a gradient.

I love it. Played it twice but on the second time it wouldn't let me win. Said 16 points when they all had gone and it should have been 18. But I still like it.
