Thanks for sending me a link to this and the other project about smoother movement.
I will be sure incorporating both methods into my next games.
Cheers :D
Well, I've only made one game so far, but I had something I guess you could call gravity in it.
I just set it so the character you controlled would fall if he weren't touching a certain color (black)
it worked out pretty well, I suppose
also p2s this is a great for makeing a pac man game (like i was JUST thinking about doing) i think i'll atempt doing one with your idea (i'll give u credit)
AW MAN! this is such an easy (but brillant!) idea! (i expected long math scripts when i downloaded it!) but GREAT idea p2s and this time it's a very simple small concept and something i can understand compleatly that's from you!
This is really useful. Should probably be included in the projects that come with Scratch, given that this problem is so common. Do you have a version where it saves the last valid direction (to prevent people rotating into walls and going into a strange state)?
This project is an answer to a question on the forum about how to make solid walls using the "return to the last good position" technique. Try and get the Cat stuck or get it to go through a wall....I don't think it can be done.
This version shows a sprite that does not rotate. I've posted another version for a rotating sprite.

Decided to remove a few variables and make it simpler.
i added it to my biggners gallery! (a gallery for people who are new to scratch)
