This project uses the pen to make String Art between the blue dots that you can drag around the screen.
I've built a bunch of pre-made shapes you can generate from the buttons at the top of the screen, just to show you some of the possibilites or to give you a starting point.
Experiment with different numbers for the Division slider. The number of points being displayed can be changed with the Points slider.
The Spacebar will switch you quickly to 1 division (just a simple poly-line) to speed up making changes to the points. Pressing it again will return the divisions to the original value.

Hi, My name is Ahaan. I am on your list of friends. I just turned 10 years old. I am really thrilled by how you made this. I added it to my favorites. How did you make this? Could you please give me a tutorial on how you made this game. I really want to get inspired and make something close to this. {I am not even half as good as you are with your physics and your projects}. I am just a beginner in Scratch and I am learning the early stages of Physics. Please help, ahaanomegas (Ahaan)
Looking at the sprite called Pen, you will see that it's script is broken into a series of Repeat loops; they all do the same thing but work on different groups of points. Basically, they just draw a line between interpolated points between the guide points, using the equation of a line to generate the interpolated points. The Fraction variable varies from 0 to 1 and as it does, it generates new points between the guide points. Then, the line is drawn. I hope that helps!
(view all replies)Hi Ahaan - I'm glad you are enjoying the project. I can't really think how I would make a tutorial on how to make this game...but if you download it you will see that all the work is done by the Pen sprite. If you can understand what it is doing, you will understand the project.

Well thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying it. I probably spent 20 hours on this, maybe? Most of it was plugging in all the different pre-made patterns.

i totally wonder what the ??? is.
When you press the ??? button, it just picks random locations for a random number of points. So it will be something different everytime you click on it. Sometimes it even makes something interesting :)
