Yes...i needed to track the velocity that the paddlee was moving so a could tell the ball to move at like 1/2 of the velocity of the ball..i could not vigure out how to do this using the mouse so i went with arrow keys instead..i will try downloading this project and taking a look at the script to see if it helps
Pretty good! And thanks for your ideas to make it more interesting. I'm always happy to see remixes made so if you want to try some of your ideas out, go right ahead :)
hey paddle, i have just noticed the "your friends projects part on the front page and on your own page" and half the peoples projects aren't even on my freinds list???? any ideas?
Hmmm....that doesn't seem right. I think it would be better if it were just people you have friended...or just people that you have friended that have friended you back.
They aren't? That doesn't sound good...I'm still looking over these features myself. If you think you've found a bug, please start a Forum topic in Troubleshooting and we'll see if others are seeing the same thing.
Thanks...I've been doing scratch for about a year and a half. The programming here is actually pretty simple. Take a look, you might find it easier than you think :)
I got a score of 20an excellent and addicting game you obviously put effort and thought into your games and animations i would recommend you to any scratcher also please have a look at my stuff my name is Crazypenguin123
How come none of my projects have gotten over 10 views?
Sorry. A little off topic. But it's a good game, except it gets boring after awhile. If you took off the pen on the puck and sped it up a little, I think that it would be better.
Hmmm, well, if you want people to look at your stuff you have to look at theirs! You have been on Scratch since November but you have only left 30 comments so far. Find stuff you like and write some more comments would be my recommendation. And, of course, advertise in the Forums :)
Please read the section where it says you can not recommend your own projects and also where it says that people who have already been on the front page don't usually get featured.
I think what you are asking for is "featured", not "futured". As for your projects chances, please read this (link to forums)
it kind of gives an idea of what the Team looks for when featuring a project.
Hi Doody...Featured projects are choosen by the Scratch Team to show off a particularly interesting project or to show a Scratcher who the Team thinks should be more well-known. Scratchers that make the front page on their own usually do not get featured since they are already well-known. I hope that helps :)
That's a good solution too - except that I am using the pen to draw the path of the puck which I then erase periodically. Stamping would get erased too. I was thinking of maybe using a covering sprite (background colored) that could slide over the time bar and hide it as time went by. I kind of like what I have now though - it's a bit jerky with the costume changes, but it is very portable and easy to resize. Thanks for the idea though!
Download the 4 sprites and 8 scripts of "Ice Pass" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
A very simple game: complete as many passes between the smiley faces as possible. You control the blue face and you try and bump the red puck to the yellow face before the shot clock runs out. The puck must touch your blue face before touching the yellow face for it to count as a pass and reset the clock.
The time on the shot clock starts out at 30 seconds but every time you complete a pass, it is reduced by 1 second so the game gets tougher as it goes along.
The physics are not accurate but the motion is quick and smooth and close enough for simple games. It uses no trig or vectors so it's pretty simple and easy to tweak. Have fun!
Thanks to Gam007 for getting me playing around with this idea.

Thanks...I've been doing scratch for about a year and a half. The programming here is actually pretty simple. Take a look, you might find it easier than you think :)
I got 20. Would have had 21, but the game ended just before it made the next completion.

(view all replies)cool and fun
I got all the way to 26! It was my first try, on second I only got 24.
26! Wow - excellent!
23
I ran out of time at 16
24 is my record
That's very good! At 24 you only have 6 seconds to make the pass.
(view all replies)also, can you check this out? i'm working on 3D project again (link to project)
hey paddle2see! i was wondering if you could get my new contest featured? lol (link to project)
I am not very good at this game:(
I like this game! Oh yea, how do you become part of the Scratch team?
Apply at the MIT Media Lab maybe? For me, I worked as a Forum Moderator for awhile and was finally asked to join the team.
(view all replies)A simple yet fun game that encourages teamwork with a computer instead of competing against it like so many other games. I like it!
i mean i got 14 and it is the worst sccore in the world
Haha so did I but I got over It and on my second try, i got like 18 err something...I still sucked both ways :)
Not even close to the worst score! I've managed under 10 several times :)
14 the rubbishest score in the world
can my sparkels project be the next project to get futured?
Please read the section where it says you can not recommend your own projects and also where it says that people who have already been on the front page don't usually get featured.

I really like the feel of the slippery ice. I wonder how you got it to get hit and move faster
Thanks! I add a portion of the paddle speed to the puck speed :)
like dimond or pearl for ds
cool do you have any pokemon games
No, sorry.
(view all replies)but frist i'll make a project for it and then it might work to use the forms

(view all replies)because i wanna see what its like to be futured
how do i get one of my projects futured?
Pladdle2see? Could you please make a review for my project? (link to project)
for the time bar you could have it half black and make it always stamp and have its y position and color set to the time.
That's a good solution too - except that I am using the pen to draw the path of the puck which I then erase periodically. Stamping would get erased too. I was thinking of maybe using a covering sprite (background colored) that could slide over the time bar and hide it as time went by. Thanks for your help with the forum mess! I tried being diplomatic but . . . ;)
Thanks for reporting it. I thought they might stop yesterday when I closed the first one. Guess not. Please report again if you see another outbreak.
Yay, so fun!! ^_^ I got only 16 though :P
16 is pretty good! Sometimes I get far less...
(view all replies)is there something wrong with the scratch server because if won't clear my messages when i delete them.
Hmmm. I'll look into it. Thanks.
(view all replies)when is Scratch 1.4 coming out
Sorry, no one has told me the date. It is in Beta testing now so it might be fairly soon.
(view all replies)Impressive physics! I was wondering if you could answer my question on this forum thread (link to forums) ?
wow! new high score: 26
That's very impressive! At 26, you only have 4 seconds left to complete the pass.
