There are two ways to do it...I'm not sure which I used here. One way is to right-click on an empty spot in the Scripts area and chose "Save picture of Scripts". That will save it to a file which you can then import into a costume. The other way is to right-click on the stage and chose "grab screen region for new sprite" then grab the script you want.
Actually, to fix the (%) variable walkback, after you x out of the error window, click the variable delete button, and delete the variable. It goes back to normal!
i made a project with really hard scripts almost as hard as urs. my dad helped me with the velocity. and, its a simulation of ZERO GRAVITY. there is a link up at the top of the comments on this.
Hey one more thing. Would you mind if I used that video and sent it to my friends. I want them to consider playing or creating on scratch one day. So would you mind if I sent them your video.
The mummy game - I'm not making any promises...I'm in the middle of a bunch of projects for the 1.3 release at the moment...but I like the idea and will give it some thought. Thanks for the encouragement!
No...I'm not really on the staff at Scratch...I just like it so much that I have been demonstrating it for some classes to show kids what it can do. Also I'm a Forum Moderator. I'm glad you like my games! The mummy idea sounds interesting...maybe something like you have to run from one spot to another while one or more mummys chase you? That would be cool if you could hide behind things to escape them...maybe there could be safety zones or something...interesting concept!
i also have another question. i'm working on a destop buddy and i want it so when you click it, it does a random animation. can i use the scrits that you used in the scratch logo, or is there another way to make it random?
You can use my scripts...but they are not random. They change by one every time it is clicked. However, it would be very easy to make them random. Just have the Poke Count variable set using the Pick Random block (under the Numbers area).
It's when the computer can't figure out how to run the command you typed in - because you messed up the "sytax". You miss-spelled a word, or left out a comma, something like that. Scratch doesn't have this type of error, because you click and drag blocks to make the program, you aren't typing in commands.
Nice! They make a pretty good demonstration of Scratch's graphic effects. I run the project once so the kids get the information, then I run it again and show the graphic effects. They seemed to like it!
Hehe, my favorite error to get is a walkback. Try making the variable (%) it messes up! Just press teh x to get out. Another error I like is setting a variable to sqrt(-1) which is an imaginary number!
that's a good idea to presente "SCRATCH" in greek language. But i must find a way to ... write in greek. The scratch doesn't ... speak greek! I hope for a translation, soon!!!!!
Thanks...I made it more as a crutch for me, so I wouldn't miss any main points. I use it as a framework and fill in more information as I talk to it (that's why you can manually control the timing). Plus, it acts as a demonstration of Scratch.

The only incorrect thing is that Scratch was actually first made(Well the beta that is) on January 2007 not May 2007, but everything else is true
I think May is when the "official" release was - probably the release of the website.
I was telling my school's bookclub about scratch before too!
That's cool! Did they like it?
(view all replies)I like it when you click on stuff because it all dose something! The cat is fun to click on!
How did you get a block to be a sprite?
The first way is better if you want to remove the gray background behind the block.

theres one that no one has found...it's to do with a red hexagon
Ah! I see what you have found! Those numbers are hidden sprites that I use as place markers for locating the cat and the block sprites. Good find!
Count again! There are eight sides on that sucker. That's an octogon. But anyway, what about the Stop Sign; what did you find.
(view all replies)Red hexagon? That's not ringing any bells....
(view all replies)aww he's ignoring me!
I love the easter eggz man!
Really Good!

ok i wont sorry and i wanted to say that m44 really helped me

(view all replies)funny cat! I like how his eyes get red and he yells at you! VERY FUNNY! SERIOUSLY! that is so cool!

Go right ahead...that's what it's for.
Are you like part of the staff on Scratch? You are an awesome game maker! Can you PLEASE make a game where you are running away from a mummy?

(view all replies)ive got a syntax error in my custom block (which is supposed to happen)
Hi Paddle2See Great Slideshow!!!!!!
hey mike
Great slideshow.
I Would Like You To Meet My Dad On Scratch, He Does Not Have A User Name Yet But I Will Tell You Whn He Has One.
Sure, I'd like to meet him!

(view all replies)uh, what's a sytax error?

(view all replies)Very good presentation! Can I translate it to Portuguese and than use it?
Sure! I hope you find it useful.
I found the easter eggs :)
Skywire...I'll have to ask! I know you have a great version of it on Scratch!
(view all replies)Oh, they love the games! Particularly Mario...

(view all replies)Very nice! I'm sure this will be very helpful to beginners on scratch!
short and sweet.
I am emailing this to people who do not know about scratch.
That's a cool idea! Let me know if it attracts anybody.

i tried that and now it won't let me go to varaiable anymore that stupid message comes up what do i do?
(view all replies)I know the i imaginary nuber thing but not the % and what's a walkback?
Nice! I like the (%) walkback!
(view all replies)Awesome!
what about 0/0=square error!,syntax error!
Nope! That's a runtime error!
that's a good idea to presente "SCRATCH" in greek language. But i must find a way to ... write in greek. The scratch doesn't ... speak greek! I hope for a translation, soon!!!!!
That is a problem! You could create the Greek text as costumes on a Speech sprite. It would be more work though.
(view all replies)Scratch could be PowerPoint killer for presentations
You can certainly make a more interesting presentation in Scratch...it does take a bit more work though.
I'M IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
Nice! You may want to mention within the project that the project itself is made in Scratch and shared on the website...
That's a good idea...right now I give that information as my commentary as I show the project. It's really just a framework for me to talk to.
I've been thniking about making something like this in Flash, for fun if nothing else.
It looks great. Perhaps I’’ll be able to translate it, in future, to my young Portuguese friends.
even more GREAT for new users!
pretty cool! it's like an ad for scratch
You nailed it...that's exactly what it is :)
I think it is wonderful that you made this!
Thanks...I made it more as a crutch for me, so I wouldn't miss any main points. I use it as a framework and fill in more information as I talk to it (that's why you can manually control the timing). Plus, it acts as a demonstration of Scratch.
(view all replies)Cool!
looks good :)
This is a good basic overview for new users.
