Thanks! It's one of my favorites too - I'm really pleased with the way it came out. It is just the one algorithm with variation in the speed and rotation of the master sprite.
Yes you did!..I was using it to get you guys interested in what I had to show. The scripts in this one are fairly simple, if you feel like playing around with it.
You're right, they do! I programmed it so that the sticks always go back to the center at the end of each pattern. That tends to result in X's. But I kind of liked the idea of having the starting location always being the same...I'm not sure why.
Hmmm. Any idea why? It runs about the same speed on my dual processor HP...maybe 7 seconds from clear screen to clear screen in presentation mode and 8 seconds online.
You can remix it, if you want. It would be very easy to change the number of times it stamps. I kind of like it the way it is, kind of sparse. But you can remix it any way you want, that's the power of Scratch!
Well, thanks for the comments...I'm glad you like it! I think you will find that the pause is working...it's just not working the way you think it should work. It pauses AFTER it is finished drawing the current pattern. It just keeps it from erasing the current pattern. Look for the little red blinking dot in the lower left corner. I should probably change this as it has confused lots of people.
Wow, Paddle2See, for once just something trés beautiful to look at and enjoy, without having to skirt around obstacles, avoid explosives or trick the java player through several levels of increasing frustration first! Seriously, this is increadibly entertaining, I'm setting it up as my default screensaver now!
It doesn't pause instantaneously...only between patterns; it will continue to draw until the pattern is done. Look for the little flashing red dot in the lower left corner. And thanks for all the thoughtful comments on my projects! It's great to read any comments but particularly ones from people that really think about how to improve the project - very helpful.
Hmm. Works for me. It doesn't pause instantaneously...only between patterns; it will continue to draw until the pattern is done. Look for the little flashing red dot in the lower left corner.
Unique ideas and different from other games however it is not that fun so maybe you could add some characters or something that the patterns can not touch to make it more fun
Thanks for your feedback. This isn't so much a game as just an art project...but the idea of adding characters into it has some interesting possibilities. Maybe a game/art project combination?
Paddle, I can tell you for a fact that people have this in their favorites, especially since I do! I went back to projects that I know for a fact had favorites, and got nothing. Do you use Firefox as well? It just updated itself for me, if you use it, did it update for you too?

Here's an interesting observation: On my (notoriously ancient) system it runs *much* faster online than downloaded in presentation mode...

is it random?
(view all replies)Comment Reply
Yes, the direction and speed that the master sprite goes is random. The other three sprites base their actions on the master sprite.
