Here's another hint...if you are waiting for a coin to come down, don't hang out under the coin. The meteors are going to be aiming at you so you want to mislead them a bit. Hang off to the side and swoop in at the last moment.
Hi, sorry to bother you again but are Collab accounts allowed? Terminator68 said that The_Whiz said that people can get banned for that. I was going to make one with Terminator68 but I thought we should ask you first. Please reply...
It should be fine to use the collab account. Thanks for checking with us. If you don't mind, could write a bit about how your collaboration started and has developed? Feel free to post it here: (link to forums)
You mean an account that is shared by more than one person? Hmmm. I know we don't like accounts that people make public by giving out the password - those lead to abuses. What's wrong with just using your regular accounts and remixing when you want to make changes?
True - I used that approach on my Scratch Moto Engine project. But on this one, I wanted to do it without color sensing so the wheels could be the same color. What else would you like added?
now that I think about it, this is actually really remarkable; no scratch projects I know of, not even mine, which is dedicated to rolling, rolls really well!
Great project, nice use of censors to create a rylistic climb to the vechile. I also like theway the buggy seems to have a 'suspension-ish' bounes to it and how the vibration isint tat bad but when you hit a bump it corects it's self quickly to the top. on a final note I quite like how the coins and meteors scroll, and doesint 'folow' the buggy.
P.S. Can u explane too me how you gt the 'infinte' scrolling, I already understand norm scrolling but can only make it go to how many backrounds i have
Thanks! The infinite scrolling...I assume you've taken a look at the scripts for this project? I use a local variable called X Current on each object. When the buggy moves, it changes it's X Current value. All the other objects are located relative to the buggy using an equation that "repeats" the object when it gets far from the buggy (it's the equation that uses the World Size variable). So, the object is repeated every World Size steps, on and on. I also had to fiddle with the background tiles, making them all the same height at the joined edges, to account for some lag and overlap of the tiles. It was a bit of a challenge!
Very good. The lunar buggy works well. The original 'egg lorry' didn't really go with the bouncyness, although it was funny. The lunar buggy fits well as you would expect it to be a bit bouncy. And the scrolling works very smoothly. The meteors are a great idea and add a bit more of a challange. Great game, well done. And thanks for mentioning me and my mountainbike project :D
I gave up on Scratch for a week and now feel bad. I'm going to look at your engine and find the answer to what I've been trying to solve for three months. Great job with the shocks!
It's funny you should mention the "shocks"...I was getting a lot of jitter between the two sensor parts of my vehicle and I really couldn't get rid of it so I thought, if I can't get rid of it, make it look like it belongs there - so I made the legs look like shock absorbing springs. Totally accidental feature.
This project is amazing! I LOVED IT and added it to my favorites! Also wanted to ask you to make another PRIVATEER, as that was an amazing game as well, and wanted to ask you to view my awesome platformer game, Nayr's Adventure, here: (link to project) ~ Thanks! NayrMP ~ : ) ~
That's another account that I use for sharing fixes to other peoples projects or partial projects for demonstration purposes and so on. This project grew out of a demonstration for 04lukeb on how to keep color sensing vehicles from going into the ground so I posted it on Paddle2SeeFixIt. Then, I decided to make my own project from the demo.
Catch the coins. Avoid the meteors. It's as simple as that. The coins can drop anywhere on the world so you need to move around a lot and find them before they hit the ground. If 5 coins hit the ground, the game is over.
Controls: Left/Right Arrows to move
Green Flag to start over
Nothing particularly revolutionary here. I just liked the way the buggy moved. The buggy is made up of two coupled sprites. The angle of the vehicle is set by the heights of the individual sensor sprites.
The logic that keeps the buggy on the surface has increasing adjustments. The longer the buggy is in an incorrect state (in the air or under ground), the bigger the correction gets (up to a limit). This approach gives pretty good performance as you can see.
The scrolling is a simplified version of the one I used in my Privateer project and is a mixture of Archmage's technique, the technique used in Capital and who knows what else.
I was inspired to make this after viewing 04lukeb's marvelous Mountain Bike Madness game.

-2600!!! again!!! same EXACT SCORE

Here's a hint...don't go up to the top of the mountain. It's safer to zip back and forth without crossing the mountain. Less chance of meteors!
i got................................ -2600!!! :C
Oops! Maybe the game is too hard.

(view all replies)As long as you use it responsibly, it should be fine. I'll try to get a final ruling from the rest of the Team in the meantime. Happy collaborating!
(view all replies)hey! don't suck me into this!

(view all replies)Awesome Paddle2See! I really enjoy steering the buggy through rough terrain... it looks so good!
Thank you Jonathanpb! I had a lot of fun with that project and I'm glad you are enjoying it too :)

900!
yays 700!!!!
Pretty good!
I got............................ -900 :(
Oh well...the key is to stay off the top of the tall mountain...it's deadly up there!
I got a terrible score…you ready for it? Well, 200.
so cool!
LOL THIS IS AWESOME!
cool game!
Love thegame bro. I just got 1,000 points! Keep up the great work! Later!
nice work, best scrolling game ever
Very fun and entertaining game. I really like how the space buggy moves across the screen.
Thanks! I spent a lot of time fine-tuning it, I'm glad you like it.
The way the buggy moves is great.
hi, look at my tri world and discover buddies plz. comment on them pelase!
sweet
800i like it please every1 try my guuitar hero game it shreds
my only problem is you fall too slowly, it wastes a lot of precious time.... but cool scroller!
400 then i got hit my a metior again...for the ...4 th time and stopped at -100
I think the key to success on this game is to stay off the mountain!
(view all replies)instead of making the vhicle two sprites you can use the x color toughing y color? block. See what else you can add to it! a great start

-900 points! check out stevii-tube gen.2!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome! -400 points!!!! A new world record!
Those meteors can be pretty nasty!
now that I think about it, this is actually really remarkable; no scratch projects I know of, not even mine, which is dedicated to rolling, rolls really well!
it died
P.P.S. that hit 500 words exact.

(view all replies)200 on my 1st go
Yaaay!!!! (Good job with the slope adjusting buggy. Yay for slope adjusting objects! (I've worked with a lot of them. Good for physics.
I got 1900!
That's an excellant score!
nah to complicated and about 10 scripts for one sprite, mine to be within 5
I'm thinking of using this in dirt biking madness (link to project) only problem is the CPU's will use more scripts slowing down the game
I looove the buggy!!!!
Thanks! I like the way it came out too.
Nice one!
Awesome game Paddle2See! :) I love it so much! :)

Thanks! If you can't find a fix for your flaws, find a way to hide them!
Nice game paddle! How do you make it scroll
The answer is - not easily. If you want to learn scrolling, Archmage has a nice tutorial in the forums, right here: (link to forums)
I had 800 then my computer froze causing we to be hit by a meteor. :S
i got -55000
Maybe it needs to be easier...?

(link to project) Here you go! You are my first tester!
ok, its done! I will post a link as soon as I put it up!
Looking forward to it!
Excellent! Though reconsider the amount being hit takes.
You think 500 is too much? You may be right...I've ended up with negative scores a couple of times which can be kind of a bummer.
Cool
my memory test is like 10 minutes away from completion........
Amazing.Check out some of my projects by clicking on my name right above my comment. By the way, I've never seen a project so good with coins!
nice job on the game, check out my stick man game
visit my remix of this game, it has a motorcycle instead of a spaceship.
Really good!
(link to project) < please visit this game, I reckon its simular to yours.
Nice gam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
