Demo version of F-zero created in Scratch 1.4 by Oldschooler2. Included is a short cartoon featuring Captain Falcon and Sonic (Cartoon not related to plot of game, just there for kicks)!
Controls:
left and right arrow keys to turn
up arrow key to accelerate, down arrow key to slow down.
I have everything but the AI working. You also can only pick one car, but I do have THAT one working. However, there are three courses to race on, and all of them should give you a challenge.
Don't drive into the black: you will die if that happens (just click green flag)
Yellow-brown patch slows you down
Brown pushes you back and you lose health
Red, aka lava, also makes you lose health
Purple patch restores health
If health=0, you will die too.
You may input your name for this game when it asks you. You can also input a "racer name" just for this game. However, the name can not be longer than 13 characters (it just shortens this)
This demo, and soon the real game, does take advantage of the features of Scratch 1.4

I was expecting sonic to win
i just finished a better F-Zero with 4 different cars to choose from, scrolling track, variables for energy and speed. check it out its the latest on my stuff

It's pretty good, but the part at the beginning ruins it. In the full version you should either be able to skip it or have more lives so you don't have to see it again. nice job

Coolish, but not fast enough. Real F-zero is faster than a greased snake in a petrol tank. Yeah. Scratch-o, hey!
If it were faster you would have a very tough time driving. It is a demo however, so I am open to suggestions for improvement.

I prefer Sonic to F-zero... I don't like F-zero. 'Cos in SSBB and SSF his attacks are slow... no offense...

(view all replies)i agree in SSBB sonic is my best character and captain falcon moves are slow but the are powerful i am not good with captain falcon but a better player with him would have better timing with his falcon punches WHITCH ARE REALLY POWERFUL! but his falcon kick attack is fast so captain falcon is an ok character if u want to think about it hard but my best characters are sonic falco and fox
His name's not F-zero, he's Captain Falcon. Second, have you played the actual game for the SNES? 'cause it's awesome!
(view all replies)Yeah, but Sonic's are too fast and his only really strong moves are smash attacks. His final Smash is brilliant though. I prefer someone with ranged attacks like link or pit. Scratch-o, hey!

Sorry for the bad turning, but the music is actually a remix that appears in the F-Zero X expansion kit, only released in Japan for the ill-fated Nintendo 64DD add-on to the Nintendo 64 (geez I'm a real Nintendork XP:D).

The introduction is a lot of fun and I like the 3D look on the car. Being able to put in the car name is a nice touch too. A fun demo...good luck with the full game!

(view all replies)I like the cartoon at the beginning. It is kinda funny in that both of them are fast, but Sonic, who is obviously faster, is too cocky to notice Captain Falcon coming in to punch him. In other words... Cool dude!

The car that you CAN race as...it originally came form the game BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2 (only available for Satellaview attachment to Super Famicom, which was only in Japan)
