zooming in lie on google earth would require that you either have an insainly detailed texture...and/or you have a ton of vetecies...what do you need it for?
your welcome! no more austrailian ocean. ;) I'll spend some time later on a hand made color map(so we can have ice caps, deserts in thier propor place, etc etc), the current one is a just a repeating texture. What software are you using to make the DG logo?

do you have this dg earth as a gif on your computer that you could send me for a dg games montage chaoticd asked me to make?
I can hunt around. I think I do.
(view all replies)make the up & down textures, and then make it possible to move it around like on google earth. P.S. zoom feature would be nice and easy to make.
k. it would look horribly cheesy if you just zoomed in.

(view all replies)i made your project interactive: (link to project)
cool! great job. I like it.
you should have kept the other version.
(view all replies)if I think of it when I have a little time I will. it should only take 5 mins to render.
ah, okay. should I make another project with an "inside out" earth?
(view all replies)it might exceed the 10MB file size max :/....besides, I'll have to rerender it, do you need the reversed earth for something?
(view all replies)WAY to many costumes....sorry. This currently has 90 costumes, 180 costumes is a little much,
(view all replies)there is something weird with antarctica...
yeah, I'll do the color map later...
I'm pretty sure you can get a 3D texture of the earth on NASA(DOT)com.
NASA is not a dotcom site. it is nasa.gov geez.
but then it wouldn't be my work :P
awsome. thanks alot. :)
okay. good.
(view all replies)sometime I will remake htis so the poles have ice and the deserts are sand....

(view all replies)hey, where's the Mediterranean Island?
probably blobified
lol, water and land is backwards. is it possible to take the lighting effect out so i see the entire planet?
yep. just rotate the source of light so that it is behind the camera.
(view all replies)I know, I will fix. And I could just brighten up the other side or change the position of the light
(view all replies)And Pacifica, and the Asian Sea, and the Antarctic Sea, and India, and the Australian Ocean...
lol! :)
and North Atlantica! and South Atlantica! and the American Ocean!
yeah, I'll have to fix that
it is the Africa Ocean!
yup, I will fix that...I thought there was too much land....
wow. i was just on the dg website looking at their discussion of what the logo should be and they were talking about using earth.
yup....oh *hits head* gotta do your logo.

Cool! I know you made it Blender, but how did you make it in Blender. Textures?
