Nah, Scratch Paint in't good... I draw them in Paint.NET. :) I used to animate in Scratch Paint, it's very hard.

I see what you mean about the horse skeleton. They are similar. When I see deer they are not usually running like that, but maybe that it is because I usually see them troting, not running. Anyway, it is still good.

I don't know how I make it.... but maybe it's because I luv animals and watched a lot of photos. But I never saw a photo of a running deer. I have no idea of how I make it.... but wait! maybe that's because I studied horse anatomy! All animals are similar in skeleton structure, so that if I know the structure of a horse skeleton, I can probably draw a skeleton of some other animal. btw, the drawing of a deer is similar to the drawing of a horse foal is some ways. :P
