This uses a nifty (if I say so myself) targeting system. The Red tank is continuously firing a silent and near invisible pellet at the green tank. That pellet stops if it hits a building or the edge of the screen. If it hits the green tank, it triggers the red tank to actually fire its real gun - after a short delay based on the value of the Red Tanks "reaction time" setting.
This means that unlike the original version, I could if I so desired rearange the terrain so it was no longer a perfect grid.
A new version of the Tanks game. Cosmetically identical but with a new targeting routine for the red tank, making it slightly more dangerous.
Left/right arrow to turn
Up/down arrow to move Forward/Back
Click mouse to fire
The red tank's speed (and reaction speed) improves the higher your score. Unfortunately there is an upper limit on its reaction speed.
I can now properly credit the tank sprites to Bonzo Industries - www.freewebs.com/bonzo_industries/sprites.htm

This was a very early project, and there are things I would do very differently now. Might do a new version, one day.
