I also really, really love the scenery. I'll use that too, but I'll make a few minor changes just so it fits in. Man, you have been so helpful throughout this, thanks :D.
SO COOL, GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look at scripts from other games and try to use them in your on creative way. Don't copy them completly but it will give you an idea of how to use Scratch. That's exactly how I learned.
Hey Mayhem, quick question: How have you switched between terrian costumes without using one long script. I see you used N-S and E-W Coordinates, but how did you arrange the costumes, as I couldn't work it out. If you could answer as soon as possible, that would be a great help :D
Isometric animated knight sprites and scenery from: http://reinerstileset.4players.de/englisch.htm Click on the screen - the knight walks to the cursor. Press space - the knight stops and attacks. Click on a green arrow - the knight walks to it then the scene changes to show the new area in that direction. The scenery is in two parts - backgrounds on the stage, and one sprite. The sprite is used for anything that cannot be walked through, such as buildings or rivers. The background and scenery
Great work. Unfortunately it does not work with JAVA in the browser. Some adventure, some riddle like in ZELDA oder Pokémon would be nice. Is there a new version with more features? Maybe sounds oder things to buy or gold or weapons. or more zombies ;-)
A little bit like Knights And Merchants! Thumbs up.
This is amazing. Would you know how to work with the Green Archer costumes? I was wanting to make a scrolling version; (link to project)(link to forums)

The background and scenery sprite change costume according to a number based on a 10 by 10 grid. EG when on row 1 and in column 7, both switch to costume 17. Rows are numbered 0-9 from top to bottom, columns are numbered 1-10 left to right.

THE BEST GAME ON SCRATCH!!!!!!!!!
Wow, this was pretty amazing! I love how there were so many different places to check out. Really great job :)
I made a remix of your game with saving and loading.
This reminds me of Arunderan, for some reason...Did you somehow figure out the programming, then recreate it in Scratch?
Not really, there are dozens of games that use that system and that predate arunderan significantly.
(view all replies)Probably because all the sprites and backgrounds are from Arunderan - or rather, from Reiner, who made Arunduran
(view all replies)My first 3D-RPG is complete! (link to project)

what are you talking about 'ONLY LOADS WHEN DOWNLOADED'? i'm playing it online!
They must have done some updating on the server or similar - certainly in the past it would never load.

KOOL!
One of the co-ords is used as the 10s, the other is used as the ones, so row 5 column 3 might (for example) be costume 53.
