Designed for use with the UK primary school "Letters and Sounds" program. Tricky Words are words that cannot be read or splet phonetically, although note that some early phase "tricky words" become non-tricky in later phases as new phonememes are taught.
Choose the earliest and latest phases you want to draw words from (for non UK people, phase 2 is easiest, phase 5 hardest).
The alien will then say a "Tricky Word" from that phase - a tricky word being a word that cannot be decoded with synthetic phonics.
Click on the screen to go to the next word.
Mk III uses a list to ensure that every word is shown, but it assigns them into a random order and then cycles through that list for 60 seconds.

This is designed for use with adult supervision, to check the childrens ability to read the randomly generated tricky words. Could be used as practice, or for assessment.
Can be used on the IWB in a classroom, or at home with a parent for homework.

Possible improvements:
A self-checking facility where audio of the word is played before moving onto the next word.
An "assesment mode" where the set of words from the chosen phase or phases is cycled through just once.
