My **** hurts is so hard to figure out because there and so many singular words you can have. I tried, "head, hand, foot, burn' I can't figure it out.

Some of your sentences are too ambiguous to allow for accurate guessing.
"They gave ****** a round of applause." You'd need to be very lucky to guess that answer, and since the program offers no clues, just requires you to try again and again, the student who comes up against a question that they simply cannot guess the answer to is going to come to a complete stop and learn nothing. The code is very nice, but your sentences are simply not unique enough to make clear the required answer.
