Hi Paddle2See,
I used the windows character map that can be found under Start Menu, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools. You can select a character, copy it to the clipboard and then, back in Scratch, use Ctrl-V to paste it. Not all characters work though.
After downloading, I see there's a lot more behind the scenes of this project then appears when you view it! Very nice commenting...one question; how did you make the little triangle characters (deltas) in the variable names?
Poor Pink Jim got shoved on a tramp by a bunch of thugs just because he's pink! Now he's stuck with no phone, no iPod, no PSP, an empty stomach but lots to talk about! Will you have the patience to listen to all he has to say?
---------------
Move the mouse around to make Pink Jim flip. There are 100 phrases in Pink Jim's repertoire. Feel free to download and modify at will! Why not add background scenery and some flying objects while you're at it?
This started as an exercise in realistic gravity combined with some (poor) attempts at drawing sprites. And thus Pink Jim was born...

ccysm: I wish I could read Mandarin... ;)
ML1: I'm open to suggestions...
I downloaded it and I think this project scripts could be much simplier!
good~有人可以分享皮球在地上彈跳,然後慢慢停止的效果嗎?我試了幾次,都沒法做得很完美。 sorry that i am very poor in english.
Nice! please check out my game (link to project)

How many comments does he have!? It just goes on and on....funny!
no he wont
will he ever shut up?
That's good! ^^
...not in a mean way ^^
MyRedNeptune: No, I don't think so.
One question. Was this project ever featured?
If they have, they didn't tell me... :(
So did anyone learn anything about gravity?
Funny idea
Haha. I don't have the patience to listen... it goes on forever.
EdnaC: I was inspired by another project I downloaded, but I forgot which one... :( Therefore I cannot take the credit for the workaround...
I like you comment idea. There's been a call for comment blocks in the suggestions forum, what you did is a nice "workaround".
oh wow, it really looks like its bouncing, i also have a gravity program, it has decreasing speed, it would be cool if you could make this like that
Thanks RedNeptune. One thing is sure, it beats the trampoline animation that comes with Scratch! :D
Those are accually very good sprites!
typo D:
I've added tons of comments in the code to explain the math. I think it's pretty good since it follows Newton's teachings! Go ahead and have a look!
LeBurt: I have no idea... but there was this project of DaffyDucks calles 'Scratch on and pass it on'...
Jens: I don't know, I haven't really thought about it. How does it work?
the bounce comes out fine for me! Did you intend this as another 'pass it on' project?
Better now, but still not perfect...
Hmmm... That bouncy effect at the bottom is not as obvious when viewed in Scratch. Back to the drawing board...
