What a nice compliment Danny! This all started when I wanted scary background music for Halloween projects and none of the Scratch ones were what I wanted. I couldn't write something note-by-note so I had to use a randomly generated selection of tones. But the randomness had to be controlled in order to produce "scariness" rather than something else. And I'm still working on the same idea. Try Paddle2See's (link to project)
Thanks, greenflash. The pentatonic scale was your idea, after all. Sometimes I liked the drums and sometimes I didn't so I figured out how to make them optional. (I've learned a lot in two years, especially in the last year.) Comments from Scratchers like you mean a lot. Thanks!
Download the 3 sprites and 8 scripts of "Pentatonia" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Pentatonia plays only the 5 notes of the Pentatonic scale. It offers the option of accompaniment by drums (controlled by the Yes/No button). And you can change the speed of the song using the slider.

Hey this is pretty cool...and what a coincidence! I've been playing with pentatonic scales too (link to project)
WOW! Fabulous work Larry! You really have a talent with the lists! (I'm more of a number block sort of person!) :)

(view all replies)Cool! I love the addition of the drums! :D
Being able to choose scales is another good greenflash idea. I'll have to do some research into what to include. Thanks!
Blues next, huh? You're really making me work! :-) I appreciate your suggestions a lot. And what would be after blues?
