February 16 (2012) Fixed another bug with the eighth instrument; if you don't want to redownload Orchestral Studio, you can simply go to the Edit fragment 1 script in the Drum 3 sprite and make the last part of the script match up with the rest of it. Again, sorry D:
October 30, 0:45 AM Scratch Time:
Fixed a bug with the eighth instrument; if you were using Orchestral Studio before the update and you want to use the eighth instrument, you'll have to re-download or manually fix it by changing the "Note 7" lists to "Note 8" in the sprite "Note 8". It only takes a couple minutes to fix ;) But anyway, sorry everyone D:
This is great. Finally an innovative project making composing music in scratch much easier.
I will be using this to create music for my future projects, if you don't mind.
A random thought - you could try using sound recording software to capture the music Orchestral Studio makes and use that instead in your project xD Just a random idea... the sound file would take more space, but it wouldn't really lag :P
Urghhh yesterday I noticed that the eighth instrument didn't seem to work - I just tested it and I saw that I forgot to change some lists in a sprite :O :O :O Uh you should re-download the project, or manually change all Note 7 lists to Note 8 in the sprite "Note 8" ^^ The other instruments are okay though. (It only takes a couple of minutes to change the lists) Sowwee D:
Lol I don't mind at all :3 It'd actually be quite interesting to see what other users can make in it... Would you mind linking me to your projects that use it when you upload them? I'd like to see how they go :3 ^^ BTW I noticed that too many forever loops cause the music to lag even more - you might have to keep the music really slow for it to sound okay :/
Well Done on this fabulous achievement. I greatly hope you acqire many other excellent things in your hard work. The possibility calculated at exactly 12:10 on the 27th of October 2011 using my dimensional opreiasd, note that is Xzycordian, is the 8979182.127891862552987982793789472893748237472389749227942983748789270987947293748927348923748923749823748927348972348972out of 9000000 chance of anyone completely detesting this. I wish you, from the outermost galaxy cluser 5.8 sector 8, good luck
Awesome! Actually, I've already Loved it, commented, and downloaded on my other account, but doing it all again is definitely worth it for this project. Can you guess which one is my other account?
Wow, complicated seeming--which is all the better becuase that means you probably worked your butt off on it XD Nice job! I would murder to be able to have such programming skills as all the people who are featured have oAo
At first I thought it was in Friend's Latest projects so I was like "Hmm, maybe he made some changes, cool!" Then I got distracted and answered some messages I got on the website. Then I came back on the homepage and looked again and realized you were featured :P. Congratz!!! I could tell you put a lot of hard work into the project, so it's definitely deserved :).
Don't worry, it's naturally slow xD I tried to do a fast song in it a few days ago, but it lags too much D: Downloading and Turbo-Speed help a lot though ^^
Epic work! Good manual. I would add a ´play with last settings´ button (to avoid the need to reenter to play from ... till every time after changing values) Btw. check Frinika via wikipedia in case you are a musician.
You can do an update by remixing with the exact same project title. For other users it takes way more time to dive into your code structure for minor updates. But that´s the fun with Scratch to recode or understand how stuff is working Btw. for more... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_sequencer#Free.2FOpen_Source
That would be a cool addition :D Not sure if I want to do an update though, I kinda want to be done with Orchestral Studio ^^ Thanks for trying it out though :)
Hmm I haven't actually tried it in Java... but I know it doesn't work too well in the Flash Player :P Download and use Turbo-Speed for it to work okay ^^
With the Transpose function, you should make it so that it can transpose all instruments. For us musicians, transposing each track seperately can be annoying if you want to transpose each note, say, to the key of C#. ;)
I hope you implement this change in a future release!
I doubt I'll be doing future updates anyway - I kinda want to be done with Orchestral Studio. There was always more to add to it and I kinda got bleh about it after a while :/ Thank you SOOOOOO MUCH for giving useful feedback though, I really appreciate it :) And it was nice how your feedback was about a specific function; it showed that you played around with Orchestral Studio some, which I don't think most people do ^^'
An empty value is kinda like a rest, yeah - well if a value doesn't have a number in it, it's empty :P You can 'create' rests by leaving values empty (so it won't have any code to process).
The Clear Beats function removes all code from a set of beats - like the Delete Beats tool, except that it empties the values instead of deleting them. Hope that was clear ^^ BTW I'm honored that you're using this project and interested on how to use it - really honored :3

It only takes a couple minutes to fix ;) But anyway, sorry everyone D: ---------- This project took a couple months of dedicated programming and designing - please follow what the project tells you to do, listen to the example music, and maybe tweak a few notes :3
You don't have to if you don't want to, but I'd really appreciate it; I put a lot of effort into Orchestral Studio.
EDIT: Featured, October 25 2011 - thanks so much :3 ---------- Please download; online, it's laggy, glitched, and the instruments sound terrible D: ---------- A few months ago, I wanted to have a music program to play around with: I created Orchestral Studio. It can do everything I want and I don't have any problems with it, so it'll probably work well enough for your needs.
The example music already in the project will show you what Orchestral Studio can do. TBH descriptions don't hold as much value as the real thing - listen to it for yourself :P
I composed the example music myself; please don't steal it. (And no I'm not saying that it's good or anything like that)
Orchestral Studio features:
*8 note instruments, all independent of each other and able to hold many (32) notes at a time (256 total) *All 128 instruments available with Scratch 1.4
*4 drum instruments, all independent of each other *All 47 drums available with Scratch 1.4
*The ability to duplicate multiple beats at once
*The ability to transpose multiple beats at once
*Infinite song length (well as much length as Scratch's capable of anyway)
*An in-project manual that should clear everything up for you
And more ^^ You can always read the forum topic for more details, but you'll obviously get way more by trying the project out :P
If you have any questions about Orchestral Studio and how to use it, feel free to ask - but please read the in-project manual first; it might have the answer for you.

You can always listen to the example music or tweak a few notes to test it :3 Not that you need to lol.

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!
hm. the music duz sound strangly familiar...
pl0xxx :3
I honestly did compose that music myself xD It isn't very unique though... Could you tell me where I can find a similar version of the music?
(view all replies)Really cool! My friend is trying to make a comic would you mind seeing her character? (link to project)
This isn't your own stuff you're advertising, so sure :P
This is very cool. Great work and congrats on the feature.
Thanks :)

No, is that bad? :3
hey check this out http://www.scratch.mit.edu/projects/SuperHeroguy/2103784 love it and fav
FYI most people don't view projects that get spam advertised.
AWESOME!!! I never download projects. I'm downloading anyways. This is as good as a real computer application!
Thanks for downloading ^^

Stop spamming your project everywhere if you want people to view it.
(view all replies)OMG! this is amazing. like schnrlf said, i didnt know you could create music composition in scratch well.
hmm. i didn't know you could make music composition very well into scratch, lol. Very amazing job!
I don't think this counts as "very well into Scratch", lol :P Kinda worried how it'll perform when Scratch 2.0 comes out...
(view all replies)OMG EPIC MAN WAAAY better than my fetuared project :D
Epicness! I love this!

TBH the programming wasn't too hard - it just took so long to do xD But thanks a lot ^^
Ooh congrats dude XD
Woo, Featured! :D :D :D Cpngratulations Jonathan! :) :)

:O With pre-made music!!! Loved and favorited.
Congratulations On being Featured good job!
Thank you :D
Awsome! tHIS IS A REALLY GOOD PROJECT. This probably DID take you several months but the result was a really good one.

That's too bad... hey, do you mind if I remix this when I'm free? I really like the concept and I hope to expand on it. :)

I don't think it'd be too strenuous to transpose the eight note instruments (at the max) separately ^^ Well of course it'd be useful, but yeahhh :/
I made something kinda like this last week... Not as nearly as cool as this.
What's that default music? :D
Ohh right, you wouldn't be asking me if you knew xD
Oh, lol :P Do you know where I can hear the similar music? :3
(view all replies)Nothing big, just a random thing I made ^^
(view all replies)cool
nice!
Amazing!
that is unbelievably cool!
Amazing! Works perfectly and the music is really good!
AWESOME!
Insanely AMAZING! Loved + Faved
Amazing- love and fave ;D

Simply incredible! As usual, your dedication has paid off immensely...hope this gets front paged!
Thank you so much :3 ^^
Almost 15% of viewers love it! I'm going to pull up some sheet music and try it on here. ;D
