(view all replies)you know, now that i think of it, jesus came to improve the jewish religion, not to create a new one. so many bad people out there call themselves christians, even when christianity promotes the golden rule and jesus wanted people to turn the other cheek. if christianity can't even enforce people to be good, like jesus was, i'll take this with a grain of salt.
Then how do you explain the Jews not liking Paul's message, Paul being a Christian.

In Christianity, gGod can do everything. I'd say no, he cannot create a rock he cannot lift. That doesn't mean he can't create a rock.

But in the Bible it CLEARLY states that man shall not be punished for his father's sins. Adam was mankind's father so we wouldn't be punished for what Adam did. So Jesus being sent to expiate our sins because of what Adam did, makes no sense at all. If you want the exact verse in the Bible where I got this information, just ask.

This project is a very good idea. I hope to see more of the same on Scratch. I have another idea that might go along with this. I have a website I am working on. The book The Non-Christian Cross, by J. D. Parsons (London, 1896), says: “There is not a single sentence in any of the numerous writings forming the New Testament, which, in the original Greek, bears even indirect evidence to the effect that the stauros used in the case of Jesus was other than an ordinary stauros; much less to the effect that it consisted, not of one piece of timber, but of two pieces nailed together in the form of a cross.
A Greek-English Lexicon, by Liddell and Scott, defines this as meaning: “Wood cut and ready for use, firewood, timber, etc. . . . piece of wood, log, beam, post . . . cudgel, club . . . stake on which criminals were impaled . . . of live wood, tree.” It also says “in NT, of the cross,” and cites Acts 5:30 and 10:39 as examples.
Was that the case in connection with the execution of God’s Son? It is noteworthy that the Bible also uses the word xy′lon to identify the device used.
The Imperial Bible-Dictionary acknowledges this, saying: “The Greek word for cross, [stau·ros′], properly signified a stake, an upright pole, or piece of paling, on which anything might be hung, or which might be used in impaling [fencing in] a piece of ground. . . . Even amongst the Romans the crux (from which our cross is derived) appears to have been originally an upright pole.”—Edited by P. Fairbairn (London, 1874), Vol. I, p. 376.
you know page 244 in the bible says that the christians of roman said that "heaven is the greek word for freedom"
The Greek word rendered “cross” in many modern Bible versions (“torture stake” in NW) is stau·ros′. In classical Greek, this word meant merely an upright stake, or pale. Later it also came to be used for an execution stake having a crosspiece.

AMEN Brother! The Bible says that the penalty of sin is death. Also, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Thus, none of us can go to heaven...by ourselves. Thankfully, God is a loving God and he didn't want his creation to suffer. So he sent his only begotten son(Jesus) to die in our place. THANK THE LORD!

Because Adam was perfect. In a sense, that was a perfect sin. It was a sin that made everyone imperfect. So to counter that sin, there needed to be a perfect human. A perfect sacrifice.

All have sinned and if God chooses to change someones heart so that they believe in Jesus Christ and what he did, that person can go to heaven...though not because of something he did.

But God's will is perfect and so if you look at how he did forgive our sins, it makes sense. God is love, the bible says this over and over and over. I'm not talking about human love, I'm talking about the most rich and pure love that exists. What shows more love than to send your own son, or to be the person that is willing to die for billions of people who have harmed your perfect...

(view all replies)Exactly what the bible says. The 144,000 will go to heaven, while the other people who have not been destroyed in armagedon will have everlasting life on a paradise earth. And it is true that Jehovah's Witnesses have changed their beliefs in the past, but that is only because every now and then, they found out something new about the bible. Such things include Christmas, Easter and the cross.

You know, saying something bad about other beliefs is one thing, but trying with all your might to bring people to the one true God is another. Don't go around putting people down because of beliefs, but you can try to teach them about Christ.
