I have problems with this and I want to be forgiven.
....Guys...didn't Jesus say to "Have faith like little children"? If a father told his son, Bobby, to give the next door neighbour a fish, would Bobby argue with his friends on what his father 'really' meant, or wether is father was speaking in literal terms or whatnot? Or...would Bobby just take a fish and present it to his neighbour? :) Now, I wouldn't consider myself a Christian, but I'm just stating my opinion.
Guys, it's not like we're trying to stuff this in your faces. We're just telling you, because words have the power to change someone. It's not like you must be a Christian or we'll hunt you down with machine guns and kill you. God gave you the choice of free will, and you can ignore this or something. No need to say something you know isn't going to help.

Okay, I'm not going to defend evolution or the big bang in this comment, but I just want to make something clear. The big bang and evolution are totally independent theories. If you don't believe in one, it doesn't mean you can't believe in the other. I notice that many of you like to mix the two and make them sound like one theory. This is not the case. Also, evolution doesn't deal with how life started, only with how it changed over time to form different species and variations.
Name-calling is a sign that a person has no real argument. Also, scientists do, like on NOVA, where there is an entire "documentary" on the first "billion" years of the earth, and how the big bang happened, and the stars and earth formed, etc, then life came about and evolved.

I believe everyone diserves an opinion aspecially on something as important as a religion mine happens to be that there is a god and he come to the erth in the form of a human (aka jesus his son). I also think that if someone wishes to hear the word of god and believe it its a good thing, but if a person doesn't wish to hear the word of god you shouldn't force them it will only drive them farther from you original purpose.
I respect other and the ways of life, and i believe fellow christians and people other religions need to hear this "The truth hurts, but the truth will set you free." and the truth is as long as man isn't perfect and we never will be there will be different opinions and everyone should respect and be nice to others no matter what their religion should be. Have said that i have one last thing to say= AMEN!

okay. here's how it works- let's say you are, like, Jewish. and you play Scratch. and one day, you come across one of these projects. what would you think? you don't like people trying too convert you to Christianity, do you? so you flag the project- but the Scratch Team doesn't find anything wrong with it. if you don't get my point, think about it this way- think about those laws that made people have to be Cristian and go to church every Sunday or get your head chopped off. see what i mean?

Technically, what you're saying is that if little Timmy puts gum in his sister Suzy's hair, he's going to Hell. God doesn't count little things like that. Everyone makes mistakes or misbehaves. The Lord understands that. No need to believe in me, but it's true, in my opinion.

If I gave you a stack of 500 cards, each of them containing a religion, and their arguments for belief, miracles, punishments, etc. and told you to tell me why they are wrong, it would be easy. You would use simple logical reason to dismiss 500 religions, so you are an atheist to all of them but your own. Now, to spice up the experiment, I added your religion to the bottom of the list.

What are the chances the program will pick his favorite number? Say instead he gets a friend that knows his favorite number. The fried would be more likely to say his favorite number.

It's really an experiment of honest, how honest can you be to yourself. It's pretty much the best argument for atheism, and I wish I could do it to every single one of you on this page. I however, don't have time. Instead, I want you to simple think about this, and realize how obvious it is. Can you do it? Be honest to yourself!

(view all replies)There was no light before the earth was created but afterwards God created light. Then he told everything to 'be'. In Genesis 2 God formed Adam with his hands. So God for sure didn't make an explosion to make man. Man for sure didn't come from an ape. He 'sent rain'. He didn't necessarily create it.

(view all replies)Proof. Evidence. This doesn't exist when it comes to God. There is somewhat some evidence of him not existing. But this doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Were you there when the world was made? Nope. No one was. Unless someone had a camera, pointing it at the world as it was made, then that's proof. However, no-one was there. You cannot know for sure, neither can I. It's only what YOU believe. If you believe the world was made by accident, then that's your opinion.

This is someone who calls them self a Christian, but if they do that do you think they are, Treating others as they would like to be treated? This means that person may not be a very good Christian but not ALL Christians are like that. If someone where a store manager and they told you to get out of their store because your shoe laces weren't tied, that doesn't mean all managers are mean like that, and the person may have been trying to help.

(view all replies)No offense, but I'm a Nihilist. I believe we made up morality (and should follow it) and there is no meaning of life. People shouldn't kill, but life is what life is. I think people should act, not just hope or pray. (You CAN hope or pray, I will never say anyone can't, but people should ACT on their own will.

Several times, I have been asked whether I'm Christian. The answer, of course, is yes. Then comes saying grace before eating, praying, going to church... All yes!

That is false to me. I realize Christian is a Catholic Faith, so we think alike but thats just not right, if people live a good life, any religion can go to their heaven, our heaven, or whatever they believe in's heaven. As long as you live a good life, believe in the after-life, then it doesnt matter, youll go.

(view all replies)Heaven is a perfect paradise, an eternity without pain or sorrow. Why would there be more than one gate? But I guess I can't force you to believe. As a great man once said, we pass out paper facts, debate theology, and reason apologetically, but they won't come around. There's only one way they'll come, and it's love, because that's what Christianity is all about--it's not about being right, or going to heaven. It's about love.

Theres a old saying that God helps those who cannot help themselves. And a saying that my Aunt had said that she heard way back a LONG time ago is that church is a place for sinners too be rid of their sins. Did those really used too be sayings if anyone knows??? And I thought I heard on History channel that popular music was a gateway too hell, is that true? Because music is music if you ask me (except for metal, which usually is evil.) Just wondering.
A lot of times the media does mess up the picture of Christianity and your post is a great example. For me, I see in no way that all modern music is sinful or unholy or whatever. Many times Christians make the same mistake as the media saying that one specific sin is the gateway to hell, but in reality, we're designated for hell anyway. The only way to get off that road is to answer Jesus' call and he will save you.
