So Andres tells me that you will be attending the Scratch conference. I'll be there as well, along with my youngest. I look forward to meeting you, as I understand you are a fellow lawyer...
This is great, it really demonstrates what the new features can do! Great job. How did you make the waves sound, I'm looking for one for a game I'm working on and I don't see any sounds in your project. Must be some instrument and notes! I'll try and track it down.
Hi, all. I've fixed the Java player so this now works online. Enjoy!
(Jens: The Java player works fine in my web browser even with the boat rotating. So never mind about what I said about the Java pauses...)
Hi, Jens. I found it--the current Java player does not yet support the new "rest" block, which was added to the Scratch 1.2.1 release at the last minute. I have to run to a meeting right now, but I will upload a fixed player this evening or early tomorrow. Glad you noticed this omission! By the way, the rotation of the boat tended to make my Java player pause periodically, interrupting the sound playback. When I disabled the rotation (but left the x/y motion), it played back smoothly. I have an older Macintosh computer so other may not see this problem.
How very strange, I don't see any obsolete blocks in this, as I used a plain version 1.2.1 with a new project generated in that version.... And, yes, that swishing sound is supposed to sound like the ocean. Well, I'll see how this turns out in the java player...
Hi, Jens. Very nice project! At first I thought the swishing sound online was supposed to be the sound of the ocean... It sounds fine when downloaded. I'm not sure what the problem is with the Java player (it's not the comment blocks); I will look into it.

Nice! Sounds really good offline. There are a number of red blocks in the code labeled "Obsolete," which I assume were comment blocks. Not sure whether that could affect on-line execution, though.
Hmm... Somehow this project doesn't seem to be working online, must be the online player isn't ready for this yet.... In the meantime you'll have to download it to check it out...
Download "Shanty"(6 sprites and 156 scripts) and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
This is a musical project I made to check out all the new musical command blocks in Scratch 1.2.1.
It plays "Early In The Morning" in full orchestration while constantly accelerating and decelerating its tempo and modulating one half note up after each round.

dsdude10: The red block labelled 'obsolete' means that you use an older version of Scratch than the one I used for this project (1.2.1)

Jens: The "obsolete" blocks things was incorrect: The computer I used to read it was v1.2 rather than v1.2.1. Sorry for the confusion.
