Remember when I said I would try to make a project that would let you make your own shapes to fill without having to download the project? I finished it! I will be uploading it soon after I check for bugs. You'll see on your project that there are some remixes done by me, those were my test projects. They did not work but I think I fixed all of the bugs. I hope you like my project when I upload it.
I've been experimenting with the older Scratch versions and I found some new blocks and think I know how to restore the comment block from the Scratch 1.2 BETA version. One more thing, do you know how to make saved blocks "non- obsolete"?
You'll have to evaluate ("do it" in Smalltalk) some method which rebuilds the blocks dictionary in class ScriptableScratchMorph (on the class side, if I remember correctly)...
if this wasn't quite so amazing I'd say "but it missed a spot!" but it is so- wait... I thiiink I might know how you did it... almost exactly...!... maybe...

Very good! I had a fairly good fill routine working in Scratch...but for some reason it wouldn't work online and I got discouraged. But this one works well!
I started thinking about that like half a year ago, but it somehow didn't work. I don't know what happened next. I deleted the project in my (computer) files, so I can't upload the failed test. :(
the one that looks like a sun is an optical illusion! if you look in the middle (when the filling isn't there) there appear to be white dots at some of the intersections ;)
In spite of some faults, I think it can be a good technique to fill in shapes. Maybe the sensor should search for the lowest corner (as water in a reservoir) and begin the filling from bottom to top, with horizontal lines.
This is the best project I have seen that will fill in a shape! It is also the fastest one too. Do you think it would be possible to make it so you could make you own shapes for it to fill? (Without having to download it)

Nice screen saver ;-)
I had never seen an AI filling a shape. A brilliant work (... as always when they are Jen's projects, never trivial)

I like it. Sometimes it's not perfect .But it 's the base of a lot of remix projects.
But, it can only fill in the inside of a shape.
it doesn't work perfectly, though making the pen smaller would be better for that. cool!
Very interesting. I like it.
what do you MEAN nothing spectacular?!? This is GREAT!
Cool =]
Congrats on making it onto the Scratch Team!

oops... i think i misspelled "makes" lol.
Very kewl. I made one that mkaes its own shape. Unfortunately I was too lazy to make a good shape drawer. (link to project)">(link to project)

Actually, there *are* some white leftovers in some shapes, because the filling is only an apporximation
(view all replies)Nice filling technique, this could be handy.
Not perfect, but really good.
Interesting... I'll share mine soon.

yes, that's a good idea, and it would be nice to watch!

good suggestion, why don't you give it a try!
(view all replies)nice project! I like how it stays inside the lines so well.
