So the frame and all white areas are diffrent sprites all with 12 costumes, one costume for each colour and when you click on the painbrush it sets a varible to a numbre 1 to 12 then once you click on the frame or clear area of the car that part checks the varible then switches to the corrisponding colour... right?
No matter what you did this is a nice simple project with clever scripting
No, Scratch doesn't currently take midi-files. But you can program music using the note-/drum- blocks which access midi (I love doing that myself, there are quite a few projects in "my stuff" working that way)
This is great, with the exception of that glitch...no real way you could really solve it unless you did something like If parts that are touching are the same color/costume, let them both change...I think that could be done but would take some work.
"black" on the tires, like just the tires. then normal yellow in the circle in the wheels. like the hole of the donut. then the orange color right next to "black" (brown)is the body of the tractor. then the blue all the way to the left goes in the LITTLE window. Theeeen, the blue second from the right in the BIG window. And that's my tractor!
I hope your kids love it :-)
There should be more pictures to color, like in the original game. I had a look inside the program because Scratch got no "fill"-block: You relay have to make each shape as an own sprite. Wouldn't it be nice to have a "fill starting at x y"-block as an additional drawing block? But than somebody would also like to have a "draw rectangle/circle/triangle from x1 y2 to x1 y2"-block and where should we stop... :-)
Download this project!
Download the 21 sprites and 54 scripts of "Color Me!" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
trying to reproduce a simple coloring game in Scratch my kids discovered on a old touch-screen machine in a public waiting area.
Press the green flag to start.
Note: The colors are different online / offline because of a color scaling inconsistency in the java player (e.g. green's missing online)

How come I cant put music on 1.4? Just curious.
This is just what I am looking for to create a project. Thanks a lot!
oh yeah, all the colors were the same too. maybe you have different internet stuff or something.
you know, none of the colors are missing for me, but then again we have the best internet invented so far... anyway it's very cool.
MA TRACTOR WAS SO KEWL IT WAS BLUE WITH PINK LINES AND THE BIG WHEEL OUTTA CIRLCE WAS BLACK AND THE LIL WHEEL INNER CIRCLE WAS BLACK IT WAS RELI KEWL
i like the strawberry pink and yellow outline!

nice! :)
just a question not really related to the above project. Can you input a midi file into scratch in the same way as wave file?

Very good
Yellow outline of the car and the rest hot pink is tottaly rockin
yeah, you're right, its awesome
Black and whit looks so cool.
cooooooooooool!
heh nice...you makes pretty sweet projos :D

VERY COOL..... SUPER DUPER! =D
cool. Good for remixing
pool lol
this is cool maybe you should do pens aswell as fill
cool!
You should make it like paint, so that there are more than 4 sections
your right!!!!!!!
i found a glitch, tho a really nice game. the glitch: put down a color, put down black over that color, the color only gets darker.
Okay, it was *my own* bug, I just fixed it. Thanks for pointing this out to me!
(view all replies)Hmmm, actually you don't have to click very fast for this... Maybe it's a but in the java player, let's see...
Haha, you're right! but you have to click *very* fast to accomplish this trick.
Nice! I thought you had fast polygon rendering at first! Still, this is cool.
black just makes everything darker... it doesn't color black so you used brightness for it!
Really? This project uses a different "cheat" trick for this: Separate black and white costumes for black and white colors, lol!
Wierd but cool
ya
está muito engraçado
WHAT?
(view all replies)tb?
(view all replies)You always make great projects. And, on a side not, I think I understand how this works. Were there seperate sprites for each part of the image?
yes, exaclty, that's how this project works, applying the color-effect to individual sprites, really basic. Thanks!
woah, its jens!
love it #6!
Just color everything one color. Presto! The Disappearing Tractor!
i tried it! haha glitches.....
This is great, with the exception of that glitch...no real way you could really solve it unless you did something like If parts that are touching are the same color/costume, let them both change...I think that could be done but would take some work.
i created a hippie tractor lol no offense to any one
Aww, I thought this was gonna be a new script which would change the paint programs on Scratch by using some amazing fill option :P Great work Jens.
nice!

0_0 u mayk no CENTS jom. anyways my tractor looks like tihs:
well what i mean if i color all of it and color one part annother color shouldnt it all be that color?
there is a glitch it wont fill whats aleady filled
Yay! Really cool!
It’s a beautiful kind of trick to simulate the missing area fill command; but it can be played with joy, just for pleasure in coloring.
