I did fractals ages ago, and I reaaly like this. I'm running it for ages. The only thing is is that you spell it "Sierpenski" after the russian man Sergio Sierpenski, who invented it.
Or you can search Serpenski Gasket in Wikepedia and you can find the rule. It is:
1. Take 3 points in a plane to form a triangle, you need not draw it.
2. Randomly select any point inside the triangle.
3. Move half the distance from that point to any of the 3 vertex points.
4. Plot the current position.
5. Repeat from step 3.
You can strat to see the shape at generation 900. It also helps if you download it, then go to Edit-Set single stepping-turbo speed, and the run the program.

No, it didn't really take that long. Only 10 minutes or so.

I don't really like spelling... Thanks for the compliments.
I like!
Thanks!
Cool!
I let it run to generation 50,000 and it looked great!
Do you have BYOB (Build your own blocks)?
I'm curious, what blocks were the wrong color?
Sorry. I don't know what you mean.
(view all replies)Wonderful! I'm letting it run to generation 2000 or something like that.
oh my gosh! this is amazing! How did you learn how to use this fractal pattern?

I took a camp on fractals. Thanks for the commpliments!
