As a question you can ask how many different Aliens can be mutated with these 5 bases. Answer nearly 3 Billion! Also what controls color of the head etc.
We had to do something like this in Science. I made babies with my friend. We put paper DNA into an envelope and pulled out the kid parts. i.e. hair, lip color, head shape. Cool that you know this stuff, and it is all correct (the matching)
My class did a project with punnet squares after I made this project, so there are no punnet squares in this project, but there may be some in future versions.
that's really neat. i remember doing something along the lines of this a couple years ago, designing aliens on paper w/ punnet square, in 7th grade. great idea to do something like this in scratch!
I am glad you liked wwc. that was just stage one. i want to put so much into it that the next stage is probably going to be a whole other project.
Download this project!
Download the 13 sprites and 23 scripts of "Alien Genetics" and open it in Scratch
Project Notes
Reason: Wer'e learning about genetics in science so I decided to make this simple project.
Background: DNA (Dyoxyribonucleic Acid) has four nitrogen bases. A (Adenine), T (Thynime), G (Guanine) and C (Cytosine). A is always joined with T and G is always joined with C. Click the bases to change them. The pattern of these bases determine everything about you.
Instrutions: Click on the bases for them to change. Once you have them in a desired pattern click the done button to see the alien determined by the DNA. Click the green flag to restart.

cool game
lol funny aliens awesome project!
Great!
interesting. You should make it so it can't change once you've pressed done.
Cool idea and nicely done!
cool nice job
I was gonna make a game about DNA, where you are a tRNA molecule, but, well, I never got around to it. Nice!
why are they just aliens?
Wow, I had this idea for a while but I was never able to come up with a good way of implementing it. This is great!!
