Download the one sprite and one script of "painting_with_4_laye…" and open it in Scratch Project Notes
Works online and in presentation mode.
This is to test out paralax scrolling with 4 layers. I used gimp to draw the layers and crop the costumes.
layer 1 has 2 costumes
layer 2 has 3
layer 3 has 4
layer 4 has 6
And the math took some figuring out. Fun stuff! Feel free to use this in your projects. Let me know if you have questions, and I'll explain how it works.

Nice. But what math? Did you ACTUALLY do the math to see how fast the parallax would make this go? Cuz I just do it by eye. I would guess that everyone, even maybe major video game developers, would do the same.

It's very impressive that you were able to achieve a good framerate online. Great work! I'll have to take a look at that math (it will be the first time I've opened scratch in months.)...I assume you tried to make it physically accurate?
Thanks! Long time no write! Yeah, It helps that it does everything in one step. I see how I can simplify it more: Only have to do the x position and costume # math once per layer... the other side is just +480 for the x position and +1 costume. (mod however many screens wide) I'm not sure about it being physically accurate- each layer moves at a different rate depending on how many screens wide it is.
