If you download, set your sound input device to Stereo Mix or Wave Mix, and change the first broadcast on the stage to 'mode: dynamic' it is fully real time rendered.
Cool! I like the use of sine and cosine for the pen thing. This is one of the few songs when I like the normal version better than the "Weird Al" version.
This is amazing!! I tried it with other songs, and it still worked! If you were to remake this, I would suggest making the name of the song the goes by change to the song playing. Otherwise this project is amazing!
In this project the list doesn't contain actual volumes, they have a "smooth sea level" When a beat hits very loud, the volume will descend slowly, you can see in this project. The "flowers" have leaves with a straight line on one side and a rounded (smooth) one on the other side. I'll make a project for you that just stores real volumes.
I think I actually got it...but can you upload that project you said that you made to record all of the loudness values to a list, onto you're test account?
Did you manage to set your recoring device to Stereo Mix (Sometimes named Wave Mix) if not, tell me what OS you are using and I'll explain :) And I don't think I kept the project actually. I was one simple script. I can make one for you if you want :)
I'm thinking about using this as a DDR background. I've studied this project and I can see the the list 'sea' has all of the volumes at different times, of the song. I'm wondering how I could easily create a list, by using volumes. My microphone doesn't seem to do the job very well. How did you turn Gangsta's Paradise into a large set of volumes? Any programs that can do that?
You can change the project to work on a song you play on your PC outside of Scratch (see notes). Set "Stereo Mix"
as your recording device. Scratch will act as if the microphone is recording the speaker output, but lossless :) I made another Scratch project to record all loudness values to a list :) You can ask more help if you want to :)
Cool I like it I love it actually. Can you check out my projects please? and if you like them maybe favourite one??? Maybe jsut Maybe? this means really a lot to me. Thanks ")
Patience - Loads of patience xD I made a default button, then changed the text in paint.net and made an opening and ending rounded thing. It are just all images with links on it (400 characters limit! NOOOO!)
I think I'll do it but I reaaaallly need an idea. I think I'll borrow one of my old educational games I got when I was 10 or so and see if I can reuse any concepts...
Great project! And for me it works fine online! I remember this song, but actually I don't, I only heard the Wierd Al version called Amish Paradise lol. And it is funny.
wow, this is really cool! except how hard was it to get the volume levels in the list? you must have used some sort of other program to put that in a text file for you, otherwise it would have been just gruesome...
No, of course not :) All mesh does is sharing variables (try the []of[] sensing block) and bbroadcasts - you can send a broadcast in one project and receive it in another.
A first test for some animation/art thing for the Scratch Olympics.
Download to run (please...)
Default it uses this song's stored volume values so you can play it without special audio settings.
Change the broadcast block in the first script on the stage to 'mode: dynamic' to try out your own songs - in dynamic mode you have to select Stereo Mix as your sound input device.

Aw man, I had the same idea independently! Except you stole it from me 2 years before I thought of it. :P
hehehe :)
I like it, cuz Ima gangsta! lol xDDD
not bad, it would probably have a better effect if it were real-time rendered

I actually like the weird al version better but I thought it would be inappropriate for Scratch :p
great song can u email it to me at blueangelfan45@yahoo.com
just download the project and export the sound
Cool! I almost thought this said "remix visualization". I have a project like this but you need a mic for it to work.
This is amazing!! I tried it with other songs, and it still worked! If you were to remake this, I would suggest making the name of the song the goes by change to the song playing. Otherwise this project is amazing!
Cool! I experimented with a few other songs too. :)
I like the interlaced style... and the patterns. :)
awsome, but strange music
xD Thanks
Could you make that script again, so I can create a list of volumes for any songs I want?

(view all replies)Ok, I'll upload soon :)
I love this song :D
Do you? I like the Weird al Remix better xP But it was a bit too offensive to use in a Scratch project.
I think I actually got it...but can you upload that project you said that you made to record all of the loudness values to a list, onto you're test account?

(view all replies)Lol this song was remixed by Weird Al.
Are you sure its legal to put full songs on the internet? But it's still AWESOME!!!!!!
Cool I like it I love it actually. Can you check out my projects please? and if you like them maybe favourite one??? Maybe jsut Maybe? this means really a lot to me. Thanks ")

(view all replies)Hey, are you still doing the educational project? Or should I do it? I'm kinda bored.. lol
Your idea is pretty good but there is a risk that someone else will do something like that already...
(view all replies)I think I'll do it but I reaaaallly need an idea. I think I'll borrow one of my old educational games I got when I was 10 or so and see if I can reuse any concepts...
(view all replies)cool! I like it better downloaded (cause there's lag online), but this is awesome!
lolz °°
Thanks :) But is it Animation/Art actually?
(view all replies)wow, you havent made a project for so long i thought you quit! glad you are back on!

Thanks °o° :)

I did it with another Scratch project :) but it was quite difficult to get it at the right timer levels. Thanks for your kind comment :D
(view all replies)Wait, a quick question, did you finish editing out the share feature in the scratch 1.4 beta that has the mesh feature?
No, of course not :) All mesh does is sharing variables (try the []of[] sensing block) and bbroadcasts - you can send a broadcast in one project and receive it in another.
(view all replies)Download Jens' BYOB - it has the mesh feature in it.
(view all replies)I am waiting for the Scratch team to reply - it's up to them to decide if I am allowed to release it.
(view all replies)Cool!!
Thanks :)
