LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this right here is the start of a 3d engine. with this anything 3d can be made we just have to try. I think this is not only one of the best projects on scratch but it is one of the projects that can be enhanced
I know how to make AI! Just make the car, and add a collision checking sprite like the one found in my project "Physics Platformer demo". Put two different colors at the front, and each tells it that when it collides with grass, it moves away. Well, view my project if this isn't clear.
Yes, i know it would look better, but his project uses big tiles, all centered to one position, like in jens' project big. It already uses 3 layers (gound, road, obstacles), each 4 sprites with a forever loop that chages there position to the position of the track. This is the reason why the game runs so slow. Adding a new layer, and 4 sprites, will make it too slow.
It would be nice if you made a different sprite for the base of the buildings, and the tree, that was solid, instead of the whole sprite, and that the things that are solid right now would just be there so the car could go behind it.
Yeah i know how to do it now! Instead of controlling the car-sprites, you can Point dot-sprites to waypoints - on the minimap. That way i can handle with the scratch borders (Scratch team - please delete the scratch borders if possible!). A screen area around the polayer dot can be chacked, and <if touching ScreenSchecker>set car2_show to 1 - but i am still working on that! :)
If this had AI oppenents, it would rock. (To do that however, you'd need to set up the costume to the direction, that is, "point towards..." etc. Which would be very difficult indeed.)
Nice idea. Steering only works if you are pushing "up arrow", tho the car continues to go. This is (IMO) a "glitch". Start of a cool game. Maybe it could go two player, as well as having "AI". Good job! -Mr Ed
To get around the problem of some waypoints beng off-screen, you can have an additional sprite, that is set to goto a location of the same location as the current waypoint but divided by 10 - eg if waypoint is at 300, 510 the "directosprite" will be at 30,51. You only need one directosprite as it can be set to change which waypoint it is getting its position from whenever the currect waypoint is reached.
This is a vector-3D racing game. I don't know how to create the three AI-opponents for the other cars. If you know how, please post it! Also, if you find some glitches, please tell it.

Ok, forget the second version. My projects are deleted by the nasty installer/uninstaller of 1.2 beta...

That is really good. I made a bumper car game that is sort of similar. It is less good though. I would add a link to project if I knew how.

The scrollin' map, works with Jens' system from his project "big", click at this (link to project) to view it.

Exellent but steering could be a little more responsive

Very well executed. I can't wait to use that scrolling solution in my program tonight. Have a look at my Ship Simulator (link to project)

You might be able to add an AI opponent using a waypoint system - a series of ghosted sprites that the AI cars move straight towards.
