This is pretty good! (However, if scratch had web browsing functionaliy, this could become even better. You could do a lot with this if you knew java!!!!)
What would really help this kind of project would be a way to input data automatically into your project. A lot of News websites have automatic feeds that pull in new stories and information and display it. I have heard that Scratch is working on implementing some kind of input feed, which would be sweet. You could set the project to display the prices as listed on the restaurant's site, so when they changed prices the prices would change on the scratch project.
This is a super project, Iron Man!
If you ever expand on this (which you should!), make sure to note that I was once served raw chicken tenders from the Brower Student Center. They looked cooked. Except the chicken was frozen and clear on the inside.
--Any future plans to include the Rathskeller?
It changes depending on which dining halls you selected. Information for the first hall you selected will always be displayed on the bottom left, information for the second dining hall you selected will always be displayed on the top right.
Please look at this. it has nothing to do with popularity its a thing about smoking. i know i made this before lifeissoccerislife but im choosing to put this out now because im not the only one. Thanks (link to project)
Aha! I knew I had heard of you before the conference, mr. kayak fan! In my early infancy days of Scratch, you were here making suggestions and being supportive. You seem to have helped out a lot of people in your time here, I hope you realize what a positive influence you have been. It was a pleasure to meet you today after your session!
This is a kind of fun little project. It's purpose is to allow the user to compare data between multiple stores or locations through the use of an interactive map. The user picks their two stores to be compared, and the comparisons pop up.
The structure for this program started as another project I am working, which is still not finished (that project is much deeper, more involved and will take much longer). I adapted it to compare food prices precisely to show how easy it can be adapted. This type of structure could be used to compare prices or data between anything, through a nice interactive map as the "overworld."
NOTE: the images in this project come from google, not from the actual dining halls. Aso, all of the prices in this project are purely fictional, they are included not to show actual data, but to show how real data could be conveyed.

I can see that extensive research was required to make this project! Future expansion: Ice Cream!

(view all replies)6th comment this is a very good project.
If only Google Earth had that! Then, you could compare current prices of your favorite restaurants and choose where to go based on that!
google earth doesn't (and won't) because they'd need a critic to go to every single resteraun/cafe/chinese takeaway in the world!
Nice!
lol its pretty creative!
thanks :)
Haha, this is pretty awesome...I recall "poor" tasting hamburgers at my own school...quite a unique idea for a Scratch project :)
