OMG, just today I was reminiscing with my dad about playing with Turtle Graphics on our BBC Micro. How weird to not think of something for 20+ years then for it to come up twice in a day.
For the button itself, I just screencapped it and edited it. Extending the length was a simple matter. As for the text... I honestly don't remember. :S
For what? I already use them for storing the code and various other data. If you're referring to the window that displays code, you can't hide lists, which would cause a problem when switching to the run window.
Audio? I never really thought that as part of the point of the project. You would also be limited to pre-included sounds. What sort of use do you feel it could have?
The botton is labeled "PrtSc". It's right above the backspace key. Pressing it takes a picture of your screen. Hit it, and then paste it into Microsoft Paint.
cool, it took me a bit to understand how you programmed the reapeat but i think i understand. each time you find a repeat you add it to a list, and you also add how many times to reapeat to another list. you then repat second list times starting at first lists position by modifying the variable I which is what senses what to do next. You're a very good programmer, i could probably make if i worked long enough on it, but my attention span is too short. i only work on something once or twice
Yup, that's exactly what it does. Good job looking through that! I always find that it's much, much harder to understand something your didn't code yourself.
This is awesome! I think that there should be hide/show blocks, incase you JUST want to see the shape without the turtle in it. Other than that, and a few other suggestions, I love it! Would it be okay with you if I made a remix?
Sure! I keep the forum thread (link in the project notes) updated with news about planned updates and new releases, along with some other stuff. If I remember, I'll reply to your comment here when I make a new version, but I might forget. :P
ZOMG THIS IS THE BEST PROJECT EVER! [/excitement] I'm impressed to an extent I've never been before! It's well laid out, easy to use, and all-around great! Well done and keep up the good work!
My only suggestion would be to have "go to (x) (y)" and "change x by" and "change y by." Other than that, FANTASTIC work! :O
For some reason, the edit mode doesn't work completely right online. (What a surprise) please download. :D

Introducing Turtle Graphics! This project allows you to write commands for an onscreen turtle to follow and draw images using the pen. Just click on a block to add it, and enter in the value for the command to use. (Use the arrow keys to scroll through a long script.) Once you're done writing the scripts, just switch to run mode, hit Run, and watch it go!

Wow, that's quite the coincidence! Seems like the Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon in action.
Hiya! Hey, please don't forget to do the mod checkin - I'm interested in hearing anything you have to say.
Oh hey... I totally didn't accidentally miss that post. Nope, that's not what happened at all.
(view all replies)Could you add a forever?
Cool project Harakou! How did you make those bottom blocks?
For the button itself, I just screencapped it and edited it. Extending the length was a simple matter. As for the text... I honestly don't remember. :S
Oh! Well, if you're referring to their actual appearance, I just edited the buttons from the Scratch UI and added my own text.
(view all replies)Which blocks would you be referring to?
(view all replies)This is cool! Nice scripts!
Thanks! Getting the code viewing window to work online was a huge pain.
i would recommend using lists

(view all replies)awesome!!!
Cool! I made the turtle repeatedly chase its tail! Can't wait for the next update!
And wow - this is awesome by the way! Nicely done. :)
Hey harakou - if you're ready to have your site mod status activated, let me know and we'll set up a time to discuss this over chat.
Will do! I believe I posted my gmail address in that thread you made about Gchat.
Ah yes, of course. I keep forgetting for some reason.
(view all replies)congrats on being community moderator!

(view all replies)It's like scratch on scratch!
SCRATCHCEPTION O_O
I made it go in a circle
Audio? I never really thought that as part of the point of the project. You would also be limited to pre-included sounds. What sort of use do you feel it could have?
(view all replies)Neat! What features would you like to see in a new version?
(view all replies)Great job on this!
epic!!!
HOW do you get the costumes to look like that? as the scripts?? LOL :)
(view all replies)No problem. :)

(view all replies)PrtSc button (top row of keys on the right. Should be above the backspace key) & paste it into Paint.
(view all replies)Are you talking about the blocks? I just took a screenshot...
(view all replies)This is really cool!

(view all replies)Wow! Clever.
howd u get the moving varubles? are they sprites? or multiple varubles??? o_O
Yes, the variables are hidden when you switch to run mode. But they don't move. They just shift their values.
They're variables, but they stay in the same place. They just shift their values up/down in the order to create the scroll effect.
(view all replies)Wow. You is the best ! Épic win !
epic turtle win.
Love-it and favorite. :D
Great job! I like the design, the mode switching, everything!
cool
Very nice! I love the way you switch modes...very professional looking :)
clever! This must be pretty hard to make. Good going on you!
Thanks!

Here is the viewer for this project: http://scratch.mit.edu/experimental/viewproject/Harakou/1250518
(view all replies)i used that before! i will love it!
Nice! luv it!
I made him draw a square!
lawl, that's exactly wut I did. XD
Cool!
Cool! I made something like this a while back, but you had to type everything out. (link to project)
Awesome! :D
Coolio!
You should impose a limit on the number of steps you can move. The reason: I put 9079832984 steps or something, and it went off the screen :O
(view all replies)cool
lol my teacher told me how he used to teach kids that.
Really cool! Also, you can delete everything by typing all and the last to delete the last, just because of the way scratch is written!
Really? Didn't know that. Thanks!
thats awsome!!!!
relly amazing! <3
amazing program!
AMAZING
Your online! I was on the fourms, sorry about what neddle said
Huh? So they posted it somewhere else? I guess it doesn't really matter though.
Oh. Well I knew about the online part. I thought that thread got closed though?
(view all replies)Huh?
(view all replies)AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made a graffiti star maker :P
That's cool! If you still have the code, you could share it on the forum thread if you want. :D (link to forums) And thanks!
I made a scratchy circle
What do you mean by a scratchy circle?
Wow! Cool project!
Sure! I keep the forum thread (link in the project notes) updated with news about planned updates and new releases, along with some other stuff. If I remember, I'll reply to your comment here when I make a new version, but I might forget. :P
